First off, I'm not going to say 140 was definately Floyd's best weight. But you could argue he was at his best at this weight. It's hard to tell for sure because he only fought three fights at that weight. However, he was in his mid 20's at this weight class which is when a man is usually at his physicall prime. Also, look at how he performed at that weight. He completely destroyed all three of his opponents at that weight. He showed great speed, power, defense, and combination punching. His 3 fights at 140 were 3 of his best performances of his career. Sure, you could knock him for his comp. level at that weight, but I'm going strictly by how he performed. Going just off the skill level he operated at when he was at 140, you could make an argument that 140 was when Floyd was at his best.
better than Roy. Are you ready? You sure? Byrd then Pazienza (yeah 140 pound Vinny) then Thorton then Sosa then Lucas then Brannon then 40 yr old Mike McCallum then Montell Griffin loss (yeah the 5' 7" Montell Griffin) then good rematch with Griffin then Old Virgil Hill then Knocked down by Lou DelValle (yes, the club fighter). Amazing run of opponents. It's more than 3, right? Glen Kelly was amazing too.
I was voted onto the ESB Committee a while back, when we still had it, and because he wasn't voted on, and nobody liked him, he got mad and started making thread after thread calling everyone on the committee "gay homosexuals". It was quite sad, but he has had a grudge on me ever since. That, and I ****ed his mom.:yep
Good question, I think that would be a good fight. Floyd showed the total package at 140. Pryor could crack, but he was sometimes sloppy and he wasn't all that big. I would have to go with Floyd in this fight. He's the smarter, more disciplined, more technically sound fighter, and Pryor wouldn't have a size advantage over him.
Hill was a better fighter at 175 than Oscar was at 154. He won 11 rounds against DelValle who was better than Gatti. Mike McCallum at 140 years old would be better than Baldomir at 35 or however old he was. Griffin? Roy was DQ'd just before he was about to KO Griffin You are ******ed for bringing that up :good. Pazienza was a Gatti level win. Lucas was not a bad fighter, he went on to win Titles after Roy beat him.
Better. Gatti was a sitting duck. Paz actually had a lot of fight in him, in every fight he was ever in.
Sure he would. I mean with all the great fighters Pryor beat during his career, I'm pretty sure a guy like Floyd would pose him no problems at all.:good
He would not fight sloppy vs Floyd. He had fantastic head movment, fast hands and feet and could punch. Stylistically he is bad for Floyd, the movment, speed, workrate and power combined. I think apart from Duran that this is one of the worst match ups for Floyd in history at a weight he was good at. I would pick Pryor by UD and a pretty resounding one at that.
