You could say the same thing about Floyd at 140. Floyd is also taller, and has a longer reach than Pryor. He was faster, and better defensively. In the end, this a pointless argument. This fight, of course, could never happen. Anyone could make up their own argument as to which guy would win.
It's really hard to say who the worse matchup for Floys is considering he's never been beaten. Not only has he never been beaten, he's never been KD, and has rarley been hurt.
Indeed, but then again that is one of the functions of this forum and it is quite good fun making up these arguments, :good
True, it's obvious that we will never know for sure about these matchups unless a time machine is invented. But wouldn't you say that Hearns is probably a really bad matchup for Floyd at 147?
We can judge based on the fights he's been in though, and how he's been troubled by certain styles, and just on the basis of analysing his style, and how it would match up with other styles. Hearns would give him a beating, so would Pryor to a lesser extent.
Castillo was the only guy I saw that gave him trouble. Even in those two fight, he was never being dominated by Castillo. Castillo gave him trouble, but Floyd was still able to enough to pull out the win both times.
Plenty of fighters troubled him, Floyd fans just make some BS excuse that he wasn't actually troubled, just conserving energy or some ****. That TooPretty clown is the worst for this. Castillo Chavez Judah DLH Hatton All gave him trouble at some point in the fight. Castillo the whole time(arguably won). Chavez with his workrate and swarming style, hard for Floyd to get anything big going offensively early on. Judah(for the first 4 rounds, until Judah started realizing he sucks). DLH(the first 7 rounds). Hatton(the first 5 rounds). Based on this, we can conclude that a fighter that pressures or swarms Floyd is going to take him off his game, or at least make it difficult for him to adapt early. Based on the quality ot these fighters, I'd assume someone like Pryor or Chavez would beat him.
Chavez - Chavez was eating hard shots the whole night and won two rounds on my card before he as stopped. I don't see how he gave Floyd all that much trouble. Most of his shots were blocked, and he wasn't able to stop Floyd from landing. Watch that fight again. Sometimes Floyd would elect to stand his ground, and would be killing Chazev with power shots. Whenever Chavez was getting in too many shots, Floyd simply got on his bike and totally nullified Chavez's offense. Did Floyd dominate every second of that fight? Of course not, but he adapted beatufilly and dominated the fight. Judah - Judah had exactly 1 dominate round in that fight. Round 1 was a feel out round where neither did much. In round 2, Floyd was arguably winning before he got hit with that counter shot(he outlanded Judah in this round). Round 3 was dominated by Mayweather. Round 4 was Judah's best round. Rounds 5-10 were dominated by Mayweather. Rounds 11-12 were also Mayweather rounds. DLH - DLH was competitive the first 7 rounds, but the only round were he seemed to really control the action was round 7. The rest of the rounds, Floyd simply let DLH punch himself out with useless flurries, and peppered him with counters. Hatton - Hatton seemed to bother Floyd in rounds 2,3,5 and 6. Unfortunately, he only won round 5(one judge gave him round 3 as well). Hatton only landed 17% of his punches, he barley landed any clean punches, and never even seemed to faze Floyd with any of his punches. Meanwhile, Floyd landed over 45% of his punches, and was landing that lead straight right at will. Rounds 8-10, Hatton was completely dominated and KO'D. Look if you can find some guys that were troubling Floyd at the end of the fight, then I might agree with your argument. But if you're just goind to rattle off names of people who put up a fight periodically in the beginning of the fight, well that tells me that Floyd is the type of fighter adapts very well, and is good at breaking fighters down.
I applaud you for your most intellegent post ever!:happy You do have some other really good ones as in your list of Supernatruals is right on the money.
This **** needs to be bolded and highlighted. Never mind the fact that he knocked out two of the guys mentioned. You can name ANY ATG fighter and name fighters they had trouble against similiar. They were competitive (Judah,Castillo,ODH) only. Its a difference between being competitive and giving somebody trouble. These fighters mentioned are CHAMPIONSHIP LEVEL FIGHTERS. These are guys who have held titles in the Division Floyd fought them and had the title(judah excluded) when Floyd fought them. These crack heads like amsterdam and sweat pea try there best but the **** explodes in there face every time.
The funny thing is nobody has even come close to outboxing him in the center of the ring. Zab did slightly and thats b/c Floyds gameplan was to apply pressure and walk him down. Whatever YOU do he can adapt during the fight unless he is INJURED>.....Get it jerk offs. Floyd was injured during the first Castillo fight. Plainly..clearly. So he had a competitive close fight *while injured* get the **** right.
