DLH - DLH was competitive the first 7 rounds, but the only round were he seemed to really control the action was round 7. The rest of the rounds, Floyd simply let DLH punch himself out with useless flurries, and peppered him with counters.

Hatton - Hatton seemed to bother Floyd in rounds 2,3,5 and 6. Unfortunately, he only won round 5(one judge gave him round 3 as well). Hatton only landed 17% of his punches, he barley landed any clean punches, and never even seemed to faze Floyd with any of his punches. Meanwhile, Floyd landed over 45% of his punches, and was landing that lead straight right at will. Rounds 8-10, Hatton was completely dominated and KO'D.

Look if you can find some guys that were troubling Floyd at the end of the fight, then I might agree with your argument. But if you're just goind to rattle off names of people who put up a fight periodically in the beginning of the fight, well that tells me that Floyd is the type of fighter adapts very well, and is good at breaking fighters down.

As a fighter, Floyd will never match Jones Jr, there are just some things you cant learn, speed and athletic ability, Floyd will never match Jones Jr in those categories, but what floyd does better is that he is a master tactician, a master defender, and mentally one of the strongest fighters in the game. Something like 6% points ahead of Jones opponents punches landed percentage. He can be argued as being the best defensive fighter ever. And his accuracy is onpar with both Sweet Pea and Roy.

And whats your reasoning for this. I agree only 2 fighters from 140-154 have a chance of beating Floyd. Forrest and Williams. The rest get absolutely destroyed. Floyd destroyes Cotto(too slow, suspect chin). Williams has a chance because of his freakish frame, but Mayweather beats him to a UD simply because while Williams is throwing and missing, Floyd is throwing and landing. I see Williams punch stats something like 150 out of 700, with Floyds being 170 for 350 or something along those lines. Frankly Williams doesnt use his reach well enough and Floyd picks him apart, inside AND outside. Forrest has a chance because he can box with Floyd, but again everything that Forrest has, Floyd has more, Floyd wins another UD 8-4/7-5.

Thats why it was a great display of ring generalship and tactical mastery, that Floyd would beat Hatton at his own mauling brawling game. ****ing Whitaker couldnt put away Ramirez how the **** do you know he would have had hatton out in 4 silly kid? Funny you say this but they all declined to fight PBF at one time or another. Hatton declined atleast 2 times at 140. Arum wouldn't let Cotto anywhere near PBF when he was at 140 and Margo turned PBF down to fight Shotgun Gomez.

I agree. I think he's the greatest Super Featherweight ever and very good, toe-to-toe, at 135 and 140, but not that great at 147.

Excellent post especially the part I hilighted. That's what makes this victory so great it's because he beat hatton at his own game it really shows how PBF can adjust to his opponents.
