The challenge for Interim Wbo Joyce-Parker becomes even more important than one can thinks.
The match is scheduled for September 24 at the Manchester Arena and the Interim WBO title will be up for grabs in a 12-round big duel.
In the last 24 hours the World Boxing Organization has announced that if current multiple champion Aleksander Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) will accept the reunification proposal with WBC holder Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) without fulfilling first to an official defense preordained by the institution, the Ukrainian could be deprived of the title of acronym.
At this point the WBO would recognize the winner of Joyce vs Parker as champion.

Agreed with the rules of the WBO or not?

The orgs usually agree to take turns when a champ holds multiple belts.

The last WBA mandatory who got a title shot was Povetkin against Joshua. Pulev was the IBF mandatory. Usyk was the WBO mandatory.

So the WBA mandatory should be next, followed by Hrgovic who is the IBF mando. The Joyce-Parker winner should be last.

But when Usyk said he'll only fight Fury next, I mentioned on here that Usyk's statement could cause problems with the orgs and one of them may act.

Clearly, the WBO took the bait.

If Usyk does agree to fight the Joyce-Parker winner next, the IBF and possibly the WBA will sue to block it because their challenger should come before the WBO's.

For all the talk Fury does, Usyk's comment may result in all four belts not being unified.

So, do I agree with the WBO? No.

Surely the WBO would look bad doing this

It is possible, but I think they will wait for Usyk - Fury

If Usyk and Fury agree to fight each other next and the WBO strips Usyk for doing so I will be ****ing livid.

    Hmmm. Wait a minute.

If that is all true, the WBO indeed may go to the Parker - Joyce winner.

No organization (WBA, IBF or WBO) would strip Usyk if he fights Fury next, because the respective 3% sanctioning fee they would get from the Fury-Usyk purse would be absolutely massive, as the Saudis will be involved.

The orgs may pretend they have rules and regulations etc but at the end of the day it comes down to money, and all 4 orgs will want to have their belt on the line in the case of a Fury-Usyk super fight for that sweet Saudi oil money. Hence, no strip.

I hear you, but something is up with the WBO.

They jumped ahead in line when they know the WBA and IBF mandatories are ahead of them.

And they already announced the winner of Joyce-Parker will be interim champ, so he can easily become full champ with a wave of the hand if Usyk doesn't do what they say.

And, if I'm not mistaken, the WBO has never named an interim heavyweight champion before in their entire existence.

So this is all out of the ordinary for them.

They are making moves when they don't have to.

Wouldn't WBO benefit more if their title is at Usyk vs Fury undisputed title match?

Wait, Usyk was WBO mandatory and he needs to defend that belt right after he won ? What about IBF and WBA ?

This is about the WBO and their extremely close relationship with Queensberry / Frank Warren, who have petiitioned for this. They get to bill their Joyce v Parker fight as an interim world title fight.

Warren has repeatedly talked about the belts peeling away. None of the promoters want them locked up with one holder unless they're the one promoting them. Whether an undisputed fight happens or not, the belts will rapidly be split up. This decision ensures Frank will have one of them.

Usyk's payday from a unification bout with Fury will be massive. They have to let the two fight for undisputed. I am a fan of purses and how much fighters make, I live through their multi-million dollar paydays to help fill the void in my heart caused by capitalist worship and greed.

    Boxing comes second.
