Joyce mauled him in the amateurs but Jalolov has more experience now and Joyce seems to have a mental block vs hard hitting southpaws.
Jalolov shows no signs of decline, he is still great and I think he would be too much of a bite for Joyce at the moment...
So Joyce is done, just because he lost to Zhang ? Some people were saying that Parker was done, after Joyce KO him.
Hard to say, right now I would favour Joyce, he beat him the amateurs and Joyce is far more proven as a pro, ones a contender the other still a novice prospect who hasn't stepped up at all. Jalolov seems to have power but does he have enough to stop Joyce from walking him down and what is Jalolov's gas tank like? Can he dig deep when needed over 12 rounds? We need to see Jalolov against better opposition after this summer's Olympics and we need him to commit to the pros and be more active. If he is still fighting as an amateur after the Paris games, we might as well forget about him ever stepping up as no promoter will push a fighter who doesn't want it.
Jalolov has more power and better defense than Hrgovic, in addition to all that, he moves better and when we add it all up, he is far better than Hrgovic...
8 rounds once. But it's less about the rounds and more the pace. We saw with Hrgovic, who's been 12 rounds more than once but when forced to fight at a pace he's not comfortable with he gassed out after 6 rounds. Having the endurance to go 12 rounds is not the same as having the stamina to fight 12 rounds at an uncomfortable pace.
Interesting because he looked like he gassed out hard against Joyce. Might be a problem for big guys like him and Hrgovic. His style is more bouncy and athletic too thats a huge amount of energy to make a body that big move around like that for 12 rounds
