Good fight but I was expecting a step up after Dubois fight.

What kind of step up is available?

Joyce makes him quit by the 9th

Joyce needs to slaughter Takam to make statement.

Neither Whyteleafe nor Joyce will risk title shots against each other
Chisora will want too much money
Parker is crap but a fair point

Ruiz isnt fighting any risky fighters and certainly not in UK

Yoka and Wallin are good shouts

Good fight for Joyce whilst waiting for a shot. Nothing wrong with this matchmaking at all.

Not a bad opponent for Joyce. Carlos Takam always comes to fight, gives it his best effort.

In a division full of carefully-matched pampered prima donnas, Takam is a true ring warrior who's always been willing to fight anybody, anytime, anywhere.

I'm glad to see Joe back in the ring. He is one of my favorites to watch.

Good fight while Joyce waits for his 2023 world title fight, :p
    Takam > Dubois.

Joyce has been the best managed fighter in a good while. Dubois could've been on a similar trajectory but was honestly rushed and pretty much all knowledgable boxing fans could see how rushed he was leading into that Joyce fight.

Not bad. Takam looked better than I thought he would in his last fight, but then again that was a year ago

I knew that this was going to be Joyce's next fight because it was the one on the table that no one has any interest in seeing.

Joyce will be the winner. The loser, as always, is the fans.

Not a horrible opponent as Takam is proven to a certain level and has a name people recognise off his fights with AJ, Chisora and Povetkin but it's not a great opponent when you consider he was in line for Usyk.

So I'm a little disappointed but Joyce will always struggle to find opponents, even more so after he beat Dubois where he showed a chin to match his work rate and not many will want to fight a huge guy who doesn't stop punching and you probably can't hurt.

Takam is a decent stay busy fight for Joyce but a step down from DuBois.

This fight does't enhance Joyces' standing in the HW ranks.

Joyce might have to wait ages for a title shot as it stands

Either AJ beats Usyk and then the WBO contender needs to wait in line, as AJ then perhaps faces the Wilder/Fury winner. That would also have a rematch clause attached to it!

Or Usyk wins and then Usyk gets tied up in a rematch and possibly a 3rd fight under Hearn....

So there is no value in Joyce going balls to the wall with hard fights. He needs to fight at a decent level but put himself in a position to pounce when his time comes.

It is maybe 18 months- 2 years before he gets a title shot at this rate. Possibly Autumn 2022 to Spring 2023.
