Will Joyce face the winner between AJ and Usyk for the WBO? Hes number 2 now. Joyce Is also 5th in WBC rankings but the chances for a title shot seem very few there because if Fury wins he'll face Joshua or Usyk while if Wilder wins, there could be Fury v Wilder IV. Almost sure Wilder will duck Joyce though. What scenario do you see for Joyce?
I am astonished he is ranked that high... Tells you the state of the division. He wont be beating any of the A level guys at HW.
If Joyce gets through the first few rounds with anyone then he becomes a serious problem. I expect him to be avoided like the plague- to the point where it will help Whyte get opportunities as the lesser of two evils.
Well he's now been installed as the WBO mandatory for the winner of Joshua/Usyk. But with the winner of that likely trying to unify with Fury after he's finally gotten rid of Wilder he won't get a shot any time soon, probably not until 2023. I wouldn't favour him over Joshua, Usyk or Fury. Warren will likely have him sit on his WBO mandatory facing solid but not too dangerous opposition until he gets his mandatory shot.
I'd like to see him vs Ortiz next in October when he's apparently fighting next, likely on the night that Fury/Wilder finally finish their one sided trilogy. But then Wilder in early 2022 as a come back fight for Wilder after losing to Fury again would be good. His iron chin vs Wilder's power, either Joyce gets smashed or Wilder get bludgeoned.
