Jr put a good ass whooping on Martineez in the 12th

Chavez was not stalking Martinez with any kind of authority. He was just plodding forward, completely flat footed, not enough sideways movement and just let Martinez circle him. Every time he did get on the inside he had some success and was able to land. He just didn't work enough.

In the 12th round he went for it, almost pulled it off, but it's just frustrating that he left it too late. My thought in the last round was "why the hell didn't you do this earlier?". He obviously didn't have much confidence in his ability to fight hard for 12 rounds and was just saving himself. Poor effort.

 

I never get this line of reasoning... "If there had been another minute"

Well, there wasn't.

"If it had been a 15 rounder..."

But it wasn't.

"If Chavez had just started punching earlier on..."

But he couldn't.

Chavez got no moral victory - he had every opportunity to stop Martinez and he couldn't. 30 seconds of success does not erase 11 rounds of domination.

If chavez would have tried to release his hands early,then martinez would have stopped him,chavez decided to box,because he was feeling those punches.

Jr had 11 rounds to T/K.O Martinez . Why he didn't do it then ? The problem was that Martinez was tired and Jr succeeded to impose his size and strenght pressuring Martinez and then drop him. Fortunately Martinez beat the count and recovered quickly and finished the fight on his feet !

Martinez finished the fight punching, Chavez's fat ass was gassed. He had one good moment, in 12 rounds of boxing. You Chavez fans need to stop bitching and accept he was utterly outclassed and is nowhere near elite level, and never will be.

One lucky KD, due to Martinez stumbling on his back foot, does not equal some kind of offensive skill on Chavez' part.
