Don't have much on him, except that he had some common opponents with Nicolino Locche. It's a bit of a shame that a fight between the Italian Bruno Arcari and Locche (who was an Argentinian born to Italian parents) never took place.

    As for their common opponents,

    Domingo Corpas

Locche won a split decision over Corpas in a fight where he severely injured his left arm during the second round. Locche took over the fight late and probably deserved the win.

Arcari KO'd Domingo Corpas in 10, although further research shows that Corpas fell from a knee injury after an even fight.

    Joao Henrique

Locche beat him soundly by a 15 round decision.

Arcari won a 15 round decision and fought a rematch to KO Henrique in the 12th round.

    Antonio Ortiz

Locche won an easy 10 round decision.

Arcari won by 8th round DQ.

Both won decisions over Pedro Adigue Jr.

Here is a not too impressive performance of his against Rene Roque:

Fuji was ragged but hit very, very hard. Better than Hatton? Probably not, but a rough stylistic matchup for Ricky IMO.

Only know that Sandro won a close decision, in his hometown, Vs Hernandez. Dunno if anyone knows whether or not this was home cooking? The Italian certainly appears durable on paper.

As always 'A', great stuff :good

  8. The Cotto performance was way better.

That for me is his most complete performance.

I wouldn't say Hatton looked better than ever against Paulie, just better than he did against Lazcano, which wasn't exactly hard to achieve.

Pre-Tszyu Hatton was far superior to the post-Tszyu version, not just aesthetically but technically too. He actually moved his head and threw combinations, instead of a pawing jab and loading up on the hooks, before hugging.

He'd have a solid chance against a good number of the alphabet champs from the late 70s to present.A lot of fighters on the same "slightly better than average" level where it often comes down to styles or who's having the better night/had the easier recent schedule etc.

Incidentally, Arcari vs Adigue is one of the most turgid, boring fights i've ever watched at the weight.I've not seen anything that makes me feel Arcari was particularly talented, but he would have been hell for Locche. He's got that minimalist straight punching to the body thing going on that would really frustrate the argentine.Gives little away to counter.
