Yesterday (or the day before) when he publicly apologized for his bad choice of words against referee Ramirez he said he is hoping they will not suspend him because he is an athlete and unlike Mayweather who can be out of the game for long periods of times and come back with all his skills he can not do that and if the sanction stays that in effect it will advance his retirement from the sport. Now here is my take. That would be way premature as he is a young cat and he rebound how ever he needs to "start" over and surround himself with a new team, a proven team in the likes of Emmanuel Stewart. Freddie Roach, ect. Also I think the time off will do him good. He would be able to reflect and acclimate to his new trainer. Third he should learn to shut up and be gracious in defeat or put somebody on his team that will handle pr relations for the love of God. Juamma lost more than his last fight, he lost his swagger, confidence, and he lost A BUNCH OF FANS in the island, my goodness his comments and attitude rubbed people in such a bad way that i don't think he will be able to recover his base. In P.R. in every corner, every station, all you could hear about him for the last two weeks was that he was a loser of a person and now they can't stand him. Good luck.
He is a ****ing dick and I wouldn't miss him. That said, he is quite entertaining but oh well, so are others.
wait wait wait.....trinidad was gracious in defeat and i dont ever think he offended anybody in the likes of juamma....ever.
i mean retiring young after hitting the first real bump in the road Trinidad lost to Hopkins and was still young and could have done more but went away instead Juanma is nowhere near as accomplished and he is retiring in the face of adversity i could almost guarantee he wont be gone for long
That would be a sad way, he can still bounce back and win titles, shouldnt give up already just because of losing to salido twice.
oh, ok i hear you. BTW Juamma for his fights in P.R. would pack the stadiums. I am telling you right now, he wont be able to do that, not even close for a few years. The people would not support him unless he just changes completely and start wining meaningful fights and still he has an uphill climb. I am telling you its bad.
This guy is 3 months shy of his 29th birthday. He's not exactly old. There's no reason he can't be out for a year and still come back strong. The biggest problem facing JuanMa is the income he'll be losing out on. He's not making mega bucks, and he has like 5 kids and an ex wife to support.
This the perfect example of why they shouldn't "let fights develop". He could have had a two fight series with Gamboa for major bucks and now it's down the drain. Maybe Arum and the rest will learn to make the fight/paydays when the makings good. Mayweather/PAC?
I think its a good idea, especially the way his neck twisted when he got knocked down. At the very least he should take a year or 2 off with no sparring.
Salido gave him a noodle neck. Respect to juanma though cause he still wanted to continue. *****s a soldier
