Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz Vs Joan Guzman, who wins?

You CANNOT be serious. You think the way Guzman lays on the ropes he stands a chance against Juan Diaz? Did you see how bad his eye was swollen against Soto from laying on the ropes?

Juan Diaz would KILL Guzman. Not even close.

 

You are entering nut hugger territory IMO. Making comments that Guzman has more power then Diaz is absurd, especially considering the fight would be at 135. How would Guzman v Pac be better then Pac v Diaz which would be an all out war between 2 top p4p fighters?

I don't dislike any fighter, so don't put words in my mouth. You dont lay on the ropes and beat diaz. he would get destroyed, read the poll.

Guzman and Diaz have comparable natural strength and power. The fight being at 135 shouldn't matter, everyone's always complaining that Guzman weighs himself down to fight naturally smaller guys. He should carry lightweight well and his accumulation-based crisp counter attack will be just as effective.

Guzman vs. Pac has the stylistic markings of a FOTY. Pacquiao is quick enough on his feet to stay in Guzman's face all night, and whereas Guzman's movement generally confuses guys enough to screw with their balance, Pacquiao has such unorthodox balance as it is that it wouldn't really phase him - he'd just be lunging in and throwing hard punches from the same precarious hyperactive wobble he always fights with and gets away with, and get away with it same as against anybody else. That said, I think Pacquiao eats more flush shots to the face than he has in any other fight of his career. He doesn't have the size to push Guzman to the ropes, so they'll do alot of circling in the center of the ring with Guzman dictating the range and Pacquiao giving him all he can handle with his explosive power and unconventional hot-and-cold bumrush approach.

Pacquiao-Diaz could very well not be a war. There's no real guarantee that Manny carries his explosiveness up in weight. And there's Juan's chin to contend with. I think once Manny figured out that he wasn't going to hurt Juan with any one punch, he'd start to box, similarly to the way he fought in the second Barrera fight when he realized that the full-steam ahead style was not going to get him anywhere (for different reasons). Which would lead to him being outworked in a potentially not-very-thrilling UD for Diaz.

And p4p doesn't have any bearing on anything, it's a ridiculous concept that I refuse to even take seriously in discussion.

Please. Juan has 17 KO's in 33 wins. That's slightly above 50% KO percentage.. is that supposed to be impressive? Juan's power is average at best! Even Guzman has 17 KO's in 28 fights .. thats over 60%.... so you were saying???

I mean.. ****.. just watch the fights... Have you seen how many flush shots Juan Diaz landed on Popo and Julio? If any other fighter lands that many flush shots, the opponent goes DOWN. Not with Juan Diaz though :deal

Popo and Julio are legit 135 lbers, how about Guzman? Guzman's last TKO win is against Agapito Sanchez at 122 in 2004.

Isn't your point that is Juan Diaz is stronger than Guzman? Well, MY point is you dont have any proof to back your claims that Diaz is stronger.

All you said was Popo and Julio are legit 135ers and asked me what what legit 135ers have Guzman KO'd? Well that's a trick question because Guzman has fought at or under 130 his entire career..

Let's just say Diaz does have a better KO rate than Guzman (which he doesnt), how does that prove definitively that Juan is stronger?

Juan is a come-forward pressure fighter. He wins by KO/stoppage because of his relentless offense. Guzman is more prone to use his speed and quickness to outbox you, so obviously when you compare their styles, the pressure fighter will usually get more KO's than the boxer. But it does not definitively mean the pressure fighter is stronger, persay...

Juan's KO's/stoppages come from the accumulation of punches. Juan will never knock you out with one punch. Just aint gonna happen... look at all of Juan's "knockouts".. they were all stoppages/TKO's.. only one was a legit KO and that was in his 2nd pro fight..

People watch Guzman and think "Oh, he fights like Mayweather and Spinks.. he must have no power" <-- ignorant ASSumption

My point is the naturally heavier fighters will always have an advantage in strength than the moving up fighter.

Yeah Juan will never K.O. anybody with one punch but so with Guzman especially at 135. AND . . . take note it's not just the punching power I'm talking, it's the over all strength.
