    Gomez.

Gomez was a ****ing beast in his prime at cruiser. He would even give Evander a real run for his money.

is it bad that i haven't even heard of Juan Carlos Gomez, i'm guessing he must be quite good if its arguable that he can beat Haye.

All i can say is that i think Haye is very good and will make waves at HW. Will have to youtube this Gomez fella.

As Whatarock says Gomez was steller at Cruiser. Great boxing ability and power as well.

I would go for Gomez in 8

Gomez TKO, he was a brilliant fighter at cruiserweight with great boxing ability and power. I think he could take advatange of Haye's defencive susceptabilities and catch him with a big counter.

Probably Gomez. These guys could meet at heavy now, that would be a good match for Haye, hmm? :hey

I've only see a handful of youtube fights' now so i'm probably am alittle biased. I would go for Haye from what i've seen, Juan is slower and Haye throws from more angles, i would go for a Haye ko.

Also saw Juan's amature bout with Antonio Tarver, thought that was very good.

seriously you should have made a post about haye vs gomez at heavyweight as his last fight was billed as a wbc eliminator and would boost hayes rankings if he won and would bea good starter for him

Good parallel thread to the Jirov/Haye thread. I think Gomez would beat Haye at Cruiser. He could punch and still had all of his moving/boxing abilities. I don't think Haye would catch him. At 190 Gomez was a physical specimen with very fast hands.

It's too bad Jirov and Gomez never fought in their primes to unify. My opinion is that Gomez was slightly better than Jirov.

His style is definitely suited better to beat a puncher like Haye than Jirov's was.

At crusierweight Gomez looked amazing his boxing ability was great and he had some serious power I think he would take Haye out in the mid rouns.

hehe Fat Tone :) its only me observation fron youtube, hence i goes me assessment is prob alil biased. Still i would still go for Haye buddy, the throwing from angles is especially true and my prediction would be who can land first and i would have to say Haye would.

But from the other posters it seems Juan is a HW, so this fight could actually come to fruition. From what everyone is saying regarding Juan i wouldn't mind seeing this fight now.
