Suprised to find out that this guy started out as a cruiserweight, and then bulked up 40 pounds to fight at heavyweight.

Defended his cruiserweight title quite a few times, and seems pretty good all round.

Only loss is a fluke first round TKO.

    Anyone know anything about him?

    welll.....

he was a respected and very good cruiserwieght. sadly the usual symptoms of elite cuban athlete + american capitalism = a undertrained overwieght fighter.

he used to put on hell of alot of wieght between fights (which is a reason why he went to heavy) and then pull it all off a few weeks before the fight

it was stupiod on his part and stupid for his trainers not to pick up on it.

skills though. he was a great southpaw fighter i would say a boxer who could puncher as he was really there to out box you and make you look foolish.

he wa struly an elite cruiser sadly cxruiser at the time was in a slump mayfield, sellers, davis were champion on and off nelson was not marketable at al. so no unification fights came through.

if anyone says he has a weak chin i doubt it if you watch the diaz knock out he gets beaten up by the result of a weak chin but of being caught early

good fighter, fun to watch on most occasions, but being german based destroys alot of respectabilty becuase he was in the ring with people reggie strickland and tony booth shouldnt be alowed to fight.

Yeah, the Diaz' thing was an insane fluke.

Anything else that comes to mind on him, West?
