Sakkreerin Jr. is prodded with the jab on the chest and ducking and rolling, countering with both hands as he rises. Takayama is moving in with an overhand right but is caught with a flush straight right while only landing partially himself. Takayama is backed off with another right hand. Sakkreerin Jr. is circling and jabbing, catching much of Takayama's offense against the backs of his arms while curling into a defensive ball while moving.

Sakkreerin Jr. is jabbing and hooking the midsection and banging away upstairs with overhand rights. Sakkreerin Jr. is fighting with his back on the ropes, pumping both hands out straight but absorbing more than he's dishing back out. Lots of ducking and undulating by Sakkreerin Jr., unable to escape the ropes. Takayama landing heavily. Sakkreerin Jr. reeling, eyes shut, mouth open. Constant ducking and swaying to either side by Sakkreerin Jr., burning a U into the air. No let up in Takayama.

Round 9

Head clash? Sakkreerin Jr. is extending a long jab on the stomach and hooking at Takayama, pressing forward now, flipping the script from the first eight. Takayama is now dancing around the ring, maybe cut. Yes, cut. Takayama is rolling in overhand rights blindly as blood pours into his eyes. Sakkreerin Jr. is toying with him with the jab. The ref carries Takayama over to see the ringside physician on the apron. He advises they stop it.

Big difference!

At first when I saw his Tweet (and spoiled the result for myself ) I thought it meant Sakkreerin Jr. had quit on his stool and they just announced the official scores as of the stoppage anyway.

...but nope, we are going to a technical decision after the doctor halted the action in the ninth.

 

Wasn't an upset. Sakkreerin Jr. lost. I don't know why he raised his glove in the air like that; maybe he was confused.

Takayama was cut from a butt, not punches, so TD. :good

 

86-85 is a little far-fetched. I could see maybe giving the 1st to Sakkreerin Jr., that was close - but 87-84 is as tight as seems reasonable.

 

Really a pick 'em but I think Ioka will edge it.
