Amazingly there was a Japanese brother fight for a title a few years ago, the Eguchi brother's fought for the JBC Minimumweight title.

For me Miura is better than Uchiyama, Uchiyama has slipped so much since their bout whilst Miura has come along a lot.

I know it's early but Kosei Tanaka is the next Japanese star. Don't sleep on this kid.

As for this bout. Ioka is up again it. He's not looked good at Flyweight and will have to dig incredibly hard to get a win against Reveco.

I'm leaning toward Miura in a rematch. Do you have any idea what the chances of it happening are?

Gonna be slim when Jomthong takes Uchi's title in a couple of weeks...

Yeah, Uchiyama is slipping and beating Kaneko in your first 9 fights is some feat. But I think maybe it's one year too early for him.

"First 9 fights" and "too early" are misleading when it comes to Jomthong...just look at his muay thai record ;)

I really feel Ioka has the top career resume even being as young as he is. Inoue obviously is something special with his breakout (robbed of FOTY award) 2014.

The problem with things like Ring magazine not giving him fighter of the year, is because if they was to put him on the cover with fighter of the year underneath it would seriously hurt their sales figures.

It's the likes of HBO and Showtime that need to start pushing these talents. Why not instead of having mismatches (like whoever they put Santa Cruz in with) and stinkers (like Bey v Vazquez) on Mayweather/ Pacquiao undercards, promote stuff like Gonzalez v Estrada II or Lomachenko v Walters-when plenty of eyes are on them- that way if the main event ends up also being a stinker or a mismatch, fans won't feel as short changed- and I doubt those kind of fighters would command much bigger fees than what they pay the Santa Cruz' and the Bey's of thus world.

Plus it would sell it to hardcores who have grown tired of the main event divas ****

On the other hand why not have a silhouette on the cover and write about him on the inside?
