    Round 1

Reveco is moving in, slicing Thaiyen's face with the jab slipping in past Thaiyen's longer but less speedy lowered-drawbridge jab. Reveco chops up top with a right. Thaiyen stands up to it well, not flinching. Reveco sticks a body jab, then darts out and circles to his left, ducking and weaving under a high guard, coming up for a peekaboo glance and either falling back in the hole or firing a jab depending on whether Thaiyen is sending anything his way.

    10-9 Reveco

    Round 2

Reveco comes in hooking the body and Thaiyen exchanges with him, both grazing as they pass each other and square up again. Reveco is caught in a compromising position, feet crossed as Thaiyen lines up a had 1-2. Reveco is down! He's up and okay. The crowd lends him vocal support and he rallies, swiftly moving left and jabbing with plenty of distance. Reveco is jabbing up into Thaiyen's face and hooking the body as he coasts to his left. Every time his challenger takes a step forward Reveco ceases his clockwise conveyance and shuffles quickly back a few times to reset. Thaiyen is pressuring, standing tall, picking off Reveco's jab with his own left glove, shooting it down a few inches whenever he sees Reveco's released. Thaiyen is getting closer now. Uppercut by Thaiyen inside, bursting Reveco's guard.

    10-8 Thaiyen

    19-18 Thaiyen

Man, this would be an upset!

Not that Reveco is a particularly strong champion, but Thaiyen has fought absolutely nobody (except Kogawa, and only squeaked by him via MD)

    Round 3

Reveco is lunging up with 1-2s from a crouch on the outside, slinking away low before Thaiyen can size him up for a counterattack. Reveco stays extremely busy, moving around Thaiyen, leading with accurate but light straight combos and dropping in left hooks downstairs to buy himself a couple of extra steps, as those do seem to halt Thaiyen momentarily. Heavy pressure sustained by Thaiyen, however, grazing as he reaches for Reveco with rights dropped from his guard.

    10-9 Reveco

    28-28

    Round 4

Reveco is trying his same cute tactics from the previous round, taking big exploratory steps out with his rear foot and sliding the lead in to narrow his stance, then flurrying up high when Thaiyen advances. Hooks by Thaiyen on the way in, covering up in between, applying tight steady relentless pressure. Chopping shots by Thaiyen walking Reveco down. Thaiyen ducks a flurry and loops a right into Reveco's side. Quick flurries by Reveco, caught on the arms.

    10-9 Thaiyen

    38-37 Thaiyen

The unofficial TyC Sports commentators' scorecard has it 38-37 Reveco.

    Round 5

Reveco is suddenly ratcheting up his aggression, standing in. Big left hooks on the body by the champion. Thaiyen is wilting, seemingly astonished by this reversal from Reveco, who seemed fragile and timid in the previous couple of frames. BIG CORKSCREW RIGHT INTO THE FLOATING RIB BY REVECO!! Thaiyen is down!!! He beats the count, a little shell-shocked. Reveco jumps on him and hooks at the body. Reveco blasts him into a corner. Thaiyen is helpless. Waved off!!

    TKO5!!!

"squeaked by"? Was one of the WORST decisions of the year. Shocking. Genuinely a robbery against Kogawa who beat him in every which way. I'll admit I'm a Kogawa fan but if you saw the fight you'd say he got jobbed

    :good I'll take your word.

That makes it even more shocking that he looked on his way to upsetting even a weak titlist in Reveco.

...but that epic turnaround by El Cotón.

If you have a grudge with Thaiyen, make sure you hunt this down. You'll enjoy watching it...and knowing that he won't enjoy any bloodless urinating for weeks. :yep

Ah, right, Thaiyen was going by "Yodmongkol CP Freshmart" back in March, not Yodmongkol Vor Saengthep as he is now. (which is also not his real name).

    That's why I didn't recognize his name.

Yeah, that was a bad decision he got over Kogawa. (although he did show power that night, too)

(in case you can't tell, I loathe Thai boxers' commercialized naming conventions and refuse on principle to call them by anything except their birth name, if known :yep)

Thanks for posting all this. What an entertaining fight...

Round 2 was a great one.

Round 3 and 4 was a good high pace battle where Reveco showed his grit, composure, and good movement... I know I read the RBR and knew the result before watching the fight so I really can't say, but I thought 3 and 4 would have given me hope if I were a Reveco fan after that second round as opposed to going the route of potential panic as you seemed to have done, IB, haha...

And then a classic example-type showing of how so many fights end in round 5. Quality finish for Reveco.

Hope the young Thai fighter will come back as he is still young... many of the Thai fighters can not control the advertising part of boxing in their country. The use of the name of the gym as part of the name is cultural thing not meant to do much but pay respect to their trainers.. most of the Thai boxers remain humble and come from very por backgrounds so i love it when they can make it big and can put some cash away... you would be shocked at how hard it is for Thai men from the country to make money...
