Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr. vs. Juan Alberto Rosas RBR

Round 5 is some rollicking ****. Robles is trying to force Barrera to engage, but he doesn't wanna. The Chosen One is choosing to box from the outside and flirt with the boundaries of "running". Robles is just hurling himself toward him, cannonballing in with overhand shots. Barrera every once in a while pulls out a MASSIVE uppercut but isn't keeping his gaze fixed on Robles while throwing and is missing them. Big shots by Robles down the stretch, probably pulling ahead with his aggression this round.

 

Round 6

Ohh, big shots by Robles!! Putting Barrera on the ropes. Big hooks and overhands. Barrera throws big hooks back!! Great action here, toe to toe. That is, toe to toe until Barrera remembers the greater part of valor. Robles isn't allowing him much discretion, though. Robles is all over him, ripping up the body. Rat-a-tat machine gun combos downstairs by Robles. Barrera backs up and jabs. Big overhand right charging in by Robles. Barrera circles left and jabs. Robles brushes past a jab and EATS A HUGE UPPERCUT!! Barrera starts putting everything he has into a series of power punches in the final minute, trying to hold Robles at bay. It doesn't work!!! Robles smashes away at him, causing Barrera to fold in half!! Barrera somehow doesn't go down!!! BIG HARD SHOTS raining down from the smaller man as Barrera hangs limply with his head practically between his knees. Barrera tries to seek shelter on the ropes and Robles just keeps nailing him!!! Barrera can't even tie up!!

If not, huge ****ing robbery. Robles was unkempt, but he kicked that ass from round 3 on.

It feels weird to cheer on a convicted meth dealer, but **** it. He earned that.

I'm glad the judges were fair. (at least, two of them)

Round 1

Sanchez quickly circles and plunges with his right jab. Rosas trots around him and keeps bouncing on his toes, not ready to attack yet. Rosas just having a look at Sanchez, watching him jab. Rosas dives in under a jab and swings wide at the body. Sanchez tries to jab down at the back of his head and Rosas grabs his arm. Jabs and lefts from outside by Sanchez. Rosas hops in and misses some high hooks. Rosas has his gloves held overhead and is punching straight from the top of his own skull. Sanchez is circling and jabbing, and dropping lefts on him. BIG KNOCKDOWN BY SANCHEZ! Quick laser-like left hand to the teeth planted Rosas flat on his butt. Big right hooks and straight lefts by Sanchez after Rosas gets up. Hard 1-2 by Sanchez!! Rosas covers up. HARD left to the body by Sanchez. 30 seconds left in the round. Left hand lead, right jab, another left by Sanchez - driving Rosas into the ropes. Wild looping right by Rosas, coming forward off the ropes a bit unbalanced. Sanchez circles around to his left and pops jabs.

Round 2

Rosas comes forward with a tight narrow guard pinched together, trying to hurry past Sanchez's jabs and lefts to get in close and land hooks to the body. Sanchez uses some nice footwork to recreate the distance and get his jab scoring. Rosas rushes in and keeps swiping at the body. Sanchez runs around him and jabs, scuffing the bottom of his arm along the top of Rosas' head. Rosas is getting a piece of Sanchez's body here and there but is mostly eating soft counter right jabs and uppercuts from outside. Ooh, right hand left hook combo by Rosas as Sanchez backed up ducking. Rosas is applying heavy pressure. Sanchez is kept on the move. Lead lefts to the body by Sanchez. Almost strafing into the ropes, Sanchez moves back the other way as Rosas tries to zero in on him. HARD right hook to the body by Sanchez. Rosas pushes forward and gets Sanchez to the ropes again, and hammers away at him.

Round 3

Sanchez keeps moving, boxing from outside. Sanchez is switching stances and using his superior reach to land left and right jabs on Rosas. Sanchez is getting tackled into the ropes but not really hit much as Rosas rushes in on him. A few body shots for Rosas, but Sanchez is able to keep turning and moving enough to take most of the sting off them. Quick combos by Sanchez backing up. Rosas is walking into them, just intent on getting close. Sanchez is still using lots of movement, but his legs don't appear to be tiring. Hard left to the body by Sanchez. Counter right jab knocks Rosas back as he's overreaching with a right to the body.
