Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr. vs. Juan Alberto Rosas RBR

Yeah, I kinda figured once the between-round commercial breaks were longer than sixty seconds...

Thankfully the result isn't up on Boxrec...or wasn't when I last looked shortly after starting this. :good

 

Round 4

Rosas is jumping in and recklessly throwing body shots, trying to pin Sanchez against the ropes. Hard towel snaps to the body by Sanchez, able to beggar off and start circling wide again. Sanchez jabs and pokes out lead lefts to the face trying to hold Rosas still. Combo roped out by Sanchez. Rosas just braces himself and dives through all of Sanchez's counter shots, refusing to be denied. BIG OVERHAND RIGHT by Rosas. Sanchez circles off to his right, snapping jabs out of the southpaw stance while quickly moving his feet. Rosas jumps in and lands a couple of body shots, then a right hand up top. Sanchez bends over and pushes his head into Rosas' chest, throwing his own short body shots. They spin around and Sanchez leaves Rosas high and dry on the ropes.

Relatively decent round for Rosas.

Sanchez Jr. just kissed his (male) chief second on the lips before getting off his stool to answer the bell for the fifth. :shock:

Round 5

Hooks and uppercuts by Rosas, coming forward. Sanchez jabs and backs up, and slaps his way off the ropes as Rosas materializes before him. Heavy body shots getting through for Rosas as he marches Sanchez to the ropes. Sanchez bends over, and in so doing just presents his head as an additional target for Rosas. Counter jabs by Sanchez land, but Rosas is backing him up and getting through with some persistent uppercuts. Overhand right by Rosas. HARD body shot. Sanchez is backing up, looking fragile!! Clubbing shots by Rosas, as Sanchez bends over against him after leaning on the ropes for a breather. BIG counter uppercut by Sanchez! Rosas just keeps coming, smacking away with high shots. Sanchez is pushed around the ring!

Round 6

Sanchez is frantically popping his right jab, while scissoring his legs back across the ring. Rosas barrels in and doubles him over with a hard body shot while putting him back to the ropes. Sanchez tosses a right jab into Rosas' face and then builds into a fast light flurry, almost shoe-shining on Rosas' grill - but the little man just won't back down. His strategy comprises nonstop power punches to head and body, and above all full steam ahead. Sanchez just can't shake him. Sanchez circles to his right, putting out jabs and lefts as diversions while focusing on getting out to a wider distance. Rosas just keeps coming until Sanchez has to clinch. Rosas gets caught in a headlock until the ref forces Sanchez to let go. Sanchez puts some quick right jabs and hooks out, hitting Rosas' guard. Body shots by Rosas, hurting Sanchez! Big left hook clips Sanchez in the face as he's pulling straight back.

Round 7

Sanchez jabs the body and circles out. Rosas is going ballistic, smacking away with both hands and actually falls down from throwing too many punches at once while Sanchez is backing away from him. Actually, the referee had a hand on his shoulder and may have pulled him down. Right hook to the body from outside by Sanchez. Rosas marches up and bangs him on the chin with a right hand. Body shots by Rosas. Climbing shots by Rosas, landing all over Sanchez's upper back as he bows forward. Sanchez backs out and lands a solid right hook to the jaw. Rosas keeps coming. Sanchez lands a short left hand and trots out to his right. Big right hook, another by Sanchez. Rosas is having his head rocked about but won't take a backward step. Sanchez turns orthodox and pops a left jab while trying to stay off the ropes. Back to southpaw. Rosas follows and fires a high left jab, eating Sanchez's right like candy.

Yeah, rounds 4-6 were coming across as a big momentum shift - but the 7th was almost a continuation of the first three. :huh

 

Round 8

Rosas attacks, but Sanchez sits back on the middle rope and springs a trap on him, hard right hook to turn his head. Sanchez circles and throws hard right hooks to the body. Rosas won't let up, coming forward and getting welted with big right hooks to face and body and grinning all the while. Wild left hook by Rosas is dodged as Sanchez moves back. Rosas finally gets Sanchez on the ropes and drops a few heavy forearms on his back but can't land a clean punch as Sanchez ducks and worms his way out. Stiff left forearm to the head by Rosas while throwing a hook as Sanchez is bowing his head. BIG left hand shoveled to the body by Sanchez. Rosas keeps advancing, walking onto the right jab. Rosas' nose is busted open. Wild shots flung high overhead by Rosas as he comes forward. Flush straight left lead by Sanchez. Body shots by Rosas in the final ten seconds!! Thumping away and pinning Sanchez!
