Just pondering Amir Khans future title succession and although it is pretty clear he will not fight Juan at all ever plus the fact that a Katsidis fight is a no go area. The most plausible reason is that he gets a crack at a vacant belt. ANY NEWS?
So if Juan is striped of the title will that make Katsidis the champ by default or will he have to fight some guy? Khan vs the Dane is an eliminator so maybe Khan by default. Khan vs Katsidis will not come off.
There is no news of this The WBO put up the interim belt partially to allow Juan to KEEP the real belt(of course aware of the circumstantial problems) As we all know Juans fight against Cambell is his last with Don King so the chances of Juan facing the winner of Katsidas-Casamayor is very realistic indeed...it would probably have to be his next fight after Cambell of course.. As far as plans...Juan wants all the belts and wants to fight the best in the division before moving up to dominate 140.....just got me thinking how young Juan is and even now accomplishing what he has is pretty incredible:good Cheers
It's impossible for Juan Diaz to be stripped of the WBO title . . . he is suppose to fight Nate Campbell on March 8 to depend his WBO title. The Galaxy Warrior is rated #3 by WBO and Khan #4. Katsidis will be fighting Casamayor for the ring belt. So where did this story of Juan Diaz being stripped came from?
When I first saw a pic of him and read about his degree's I thought he was a big hype job but damm after seeing him fight, he is one dangerous guy and still maybe a prospect. Who knows how far that kid can go. Thanks for the info. How do you think Khan fits the lightweight belt situation? He is getting a big publicity push over here and a lot of noise is being made about him fighing for a world belt soon, plus he's got his eliminator soon. The kid has been very well protected and my personal feeling is that he will move up to fight Ree's or Kotelnik then move back down to lightweight for a title shot.
Just rumour of the Juan being stripped story but there have also been rumours of him dropping the belt too, this side of the Atlantic more I think. Thanks for the info, you have helped clear a few things up. Not sure what plans Warren has for Khan buT the likes of Casamayor, Katsidis and Cambell as well as Juan are all a huge leap from the type of guys han has been fighting.
Honestly mate...Kahn is easy to hate....however I've watched some of his fights and am warming to him slowly:good I think the lightweight division has abit of depth right now...I would like to see Kahn fight at least a b-level fighter or top journeyman thats had a big fight or two....Right now I think Kahn needs to finish the year solid with some good opponents before making a run at Diaz:yep and they better be good names...Diaz is the real deal mate...if he continues at the rate he has he could be one of the ATGs at 135:yep
No problem it's all good . . . I was just suprised on that news. The Juan Diaz/Campbell fight is sanctioned by the WBO organization. And if Katsidis is victorious against Casamayor and Juan over Campbell . . . it's most likely that we will see Juan Diaz vs Katsidis next.
The biggest problem with Khan is that he is being moved in to title contention too easily. If he fights some serious names over the next year then I may start looking forward to his fights and supporting him but if he keeps on parading himself off as the next big thing while fighting guys who are built for him then the joke will be on himwhen it finally does come to the time he has to fight a guy like those mentioned, never mind Juan Diaz. We have been clamouring for the kid to fight Thaxton or Romanov, two guys he should really be beating but who will definetly cause him big problems but once again the soft option comes in with this no name Dane. The fact that it is being billed as an eliminator sticks in the throat. I can not help thinking someone is going to get shafted so Khan can have his title.
