Another website has this . . . as an exclusive.

It says . . . Diaz might end up with GBP.

If you want to read the whole story . . . visit BOXING "C" and read Michael Marley's story . . . it's copy righted and I don't want to be in trouble here. :yep :D

Don would probably be doing Juan a favour!

I think the WBO will strip him because Frank Warren will have slipped them a fiver, to open the road for Amir Khan to beat some tomato can for the belt!

It's more like Juan is dropping Don. This story is going on for like 3 months. Apparently Juan is not interested in resigning his ending contract with DKP

That has been the rumor for a while. Golden Boy has been getting close to Diaz and I am pretty sure he will sign with them once his contract with Don King ends after the Campbell fight.

Juan's been trying to get rid of Don for ages now. Their contract expires March 1. Basically, Don has been holding a belt over his head to get him to resign for a 3 year extension. He scheduled the Nate Campbell fight, knowing that if he doesn't fight Campbell, he'll be stripped of one of his belts, but he made a condition of signing onto the fight that Diaz would need to enter into a 3 year extension, which is why Diaz took so long to sign it. Once King realized that he was going to lose Diaz no matter what, he let him sign the fight on reduced terms (where Don King will basically get most of the money for the fight), and started posturing that he's going to drop Diaz. Once the contract is over, Juan can sign where he wants to and Don will lose all of his leverage. Juan might get stripped of a belt or two in the process, but that really shouldn't hurt his career, considering he already beat the rightful owners of those belts.

It's bad that u get stripped of a belt just because your ex promoter is a wanker.

Very true but he should have known better than to have signed with King in the 1st place. Katsidis deserves his shot and is will to fight Juan so if Juan can't make the defence because of his promoter then he should be stripped.

Once Juan is finished with Cambell then he'll be free from King and can fight Katsidis / Casamayor and find the true champion.

That sounds like a good summation of things. As I see it, the more power DKP loses, the better for the sport. While none of the other groups is perfect, his tendency to strangle the life out of fighters' careers by stalling them is terrible.

He was like 19 when he signed with the Don, and Don King got him a title way before he deserved a shot. Don King was pretty good for his career, for the most part.

Yeah now I believe that it's more of Juan Diaz dropping DK. After all DK was asking for $2 MiL before to release Diaz.
