Let the fun begin. I see Juan outbrawling Hatton and around the 10th or 11th Hatton quits on his stool the way many of Juans recent castaways have. Cheers:good

We should get the bandwagon rolling. Late 08 or early 09 Diaz v Hatton will become a must. A phonebox fight and although I'm a Hatton fan I'm becoming a 'Baby Bull' fan everytime I see him fight.

It's a phonebox fight and it would be brutal and I really don't know who'd win. One of those fights I'd change my opinion every day. But at the moment I'm going for a brutal Diaz split decision.

I still didn't vote - I'm puzzled by this one.

The work rate in this fight would be incredible.

I may be leaning toward Ricky because of power.

But - WOW - now I want to see this fight. Never thought of it until this post.

    Edited:

    I just voted Hatton.

Hatton is too strong for Juan Diaz.

Juan Diaz doesn't have the power to stop Hatton's attack. Therefore Juan can be taken out of his comfort zone and fight outside his attacking style.

Definitely this one's not gonna end in a decission. And if I have to chose who's going down it's got to be Diaz.

    Hatton by TKO or KO.

Damn mate a little excited are we? SEE ABOVE for my prediction as I'm the poster of this thread. In case you can't scroll up I see Juan Diaz's relentless attack wearing Ricky down to the point where he QUITS. Hattons wrestling will be negated as Diaz is much better on the inside that any of Hattons previous opponents and this includes Tszyu(even though im a big fan). To put it more simply if Hatton fought like Diaz he might have a chance of winning(focus more energy on punching instead of wrestling)otherwise Ricky loses:good

**** me here we go. I cant understand how you can downplay a fighters power when the last 3 opponents which have all been champions have been KOd or quit on their stool. Juan is young and is still developing and filling out nicely as is his power:good

Hmm Hatton KO? Nah Diaz never slows down and never lets up. We've seen Hatton tire and get even more sloppy than when he's fresh. Hatton wishes he had the balls to fight like Juan but he doesnt. Theirs everything to like about Ricky Hatton except his painful to watch style:-( I've tried to like him for years. After watching the dirty win over Tszyu and the collapse at the hands of Collazo(who was robbed by the way) I knew it would be a matter of time before Ricky hit the shithouse..So back to here and now..Juan Diaz is better than any other lightwelter right now..better in every way..So why not? It would make a great fight:good

    Hatton by UD

Ricky would enjoy a strength and size advantage over Juan Diaz. What does this mean? Diaz would have to trade with the stronger Hatton or fight off of the backfoot. Hatton would muscle him around on the inside and find the mark with the harder punches. Diaz would certainly be competitive early on and have some excellent moments, but as the fight progressed, I'd expect Hatton to take command.
