Juan Diaz should stay away from the winner of Casamayor vs Marquez. I think that Casamayor and JMM have the style to really make Diaz look bad. They're both very good counter punchers and they both won't just stay in front of Diaz and they will use their legs in a fight with Diaz. I think Diaz should hope that Nate Campbell wins and maybe they will have a rematch for mostly all the belts.

You maybe right however I would like to see him make those fights. They will be tough fights for Juan but I certainly think he can walk away the victor in either contest

Casamayor has the style to make Diaz look bad. In the Katsidis fight he stood in the pocket and traded punches too much with Katsidis and remember it was a close fight before Casamayor KO Katsidis. If Katsidis was up it was only by a round and Casamayor was coming back strong by winning the 8 & 9 round by moving and counter punching. He won't beat Casamayor easily or even at all because of his counter punching ability and his ring movement. Thoes two things alone will give Juan Diaz hell in the ring.

Hate to bust your hopes but looks like Diaz will fight the winner

Golden Boy Promotions are looking at possibly matching "Baby Bull" Juan Diaz (34-1, 17KOs) against the winner of Saturday's lightweight battle between Joel Casamayor and Juan Manuel Marquez. Diaz outpointed Michael Katsidis in a dominating performance last Saturday in Houston, Texas.

Diaz's manager, Willie Savannah, confirmed to *********** that Golden Boy has mentioned the possibility of Diaz fighting the winner of Saturday's fight. Savannah feels that matching Diaz against Marquez, due to the styles, would make for a better fight.

"Golden Boy did mention that the other night. We would love to fight Juan Manuel Marquez. If they did it in Houston, that fight would be big with all of the Mexican fans," Savannah said.

Savannah predicts that Marquez should pull out the win, but if Casamayor is the victor, depending on how he wins, they would consider that fight as well. Joan Guzman is another possbility - if he gets past WBA/IBF/WBO champion Nate Campbell in their upcoming fight, also scheduled for this Saturday. He admits that one of the better fights at 135-pounds is a rematch between Diaz and Campbell, but neither he or Diaz will even consider making the fight as long as Campbell is co-promoted by Don King.

Diaz/Savannah and King had a very nasty and public war of words during and after Diaz's departure earlier this year from DKP. Diaz left King when his contract expired and signed a multi-year deal with Golden Boy.

"It all depends on how Casamayor looks. If he wins impressive, but if he wins in a real ugly fight, we might not want to do it. We would fight Guzman if he beats Campbell. One of the best fights in this division is a rematch between Juan and Nate Campbell. But it will never, never happen as long as Nate is with Don King," Savannah said.

Yes he would. However, Jmm can still beat him.

Juan would have an easier time with JMM than Casamayor, even though JMM is the better fighter.

Casa's headbutt and elbows combo would **** Juan Diaz up.

I'll be hoping to see Diaz take on the winner, there's nothing to worry about if you're Diaz. The man can give anyone hell in the division.

I think Diaz would beat Casa and probably JMM, although we haven't seen him at 135.

Moving against Diaz is a bad idea IMO. His footwork for a pressure fighter is fantastic, he's great on the inside, excellent jab, fast and sharp punches, good defense, and a very, very good inside fighter.

I wrote him off a little after Campbell, but I just forgot how impressive he is at his best. Nate stood toe-to-toe with Diaz, traded with him on the inside because he was better there. No one else is better than Diaz on the inside at 135 IMO. Trying to move is at least in my mind, a bad idea. Diaz would hunt Casa down, the angles he creates with his footwork is very impressive.

Casa could pull it off certainly, but I'd pick Diaz over this 36 year old version.

Diaz struggled badly with the rough and tough dirty tactics of Nate Campbell, Joel Casamayor invented the "foul til I'm penalized" style.
