This might be a good matchup for Juan. Marcos isn't going to run, and Juan Diaz throws more compact punches. I can see Juan by UD.

I don't like it for Juan. His power won't deter Maidana, and if he decides to trade with him, Juans style, Maidana power could be too much. I see it being alot like the JMM fight. Lots of action, good back and forth, but Juan on the floor when it's over.

No its not Juan is not a true Junior Welterweight he had no buisness fighting Paulie Malignaggi at 139 pounds let alone twice. Juan is a tremendous Lightweight fighter, put him in with someone like Edner Cherry smash him and regain some of the momentum Juan had in 2007.

Votes for Juan, but thinking about it, it would be a tough match up in a weight class he does not belong in

I think this is too dangerous for Diaz...Diaz should fight David Diaz...build up some confidence, then get the winner of Valero/DeMarco

He needs to stay at 135.

But the real question is, whether Diaz is damaged goods or not. That loss against JMM followed by two pretty poor performances against Paulie, tells me the best of him has already come and gone

to me it looks more like JMM figured him out and gave everyone Diaz's weakness away. It kills me that he didnt change his gameplan against Malignaggi for the rematch and now I ask myself "How smart is he really?" Hes a come forward fighter that only has one gear. If you create openings while giving him angles he misses awfully just like a bull. I think hes still good against lesser fighters like Katsidis though.

He should fight David Diaz to see where he stands before fighting another elite opponent at 135.

I actually think juan could be competitive.....when guys stand in front of diaz, is when he has success....It is boxers, and counter-punchers he has problems with.....However, Maidana being the bigger man, his power will get to diaz...

    Maidana KO 8

I disagree. All night it was Diaz's gameplan that was successful, the only reason he lost to Marquez is that Marquez could punch and take aloooot of punishment. Technically it was no masterpiece at all.

Exactly for the most part it was a slugfest with both guys landinf clean shots over and over agian and of course Marquez hits harder then Diaz and therefore broke him down. I dont think theres been any real blue print on how to beat Juan Diaz he seems to be at his worst when his eye gets cut.
