I will go with the consensus and say JMM will counter punch and outbox Juan to a decision. However I think this will be a hard fought bout...Juan has better skills then people give him credit for, thats why I wasnt suprised that the Katsidas fight wasnt the war everyone thought it would be...Juan doesnt go to war, he goes to work..he more often then not dominates with high work rate and a pretty tight defense. Pretty sure he threw less punches then Diaz and Katsidas but landed just about twice as many. JMM is a different fight no doubt but he wasnt entirely convincing against a very faded Casa. He is bigger and younger then JMM...I think an upset is not out of the question.
I'm definitely going with Juan. JMM doesn't have the handspeed or stamina of Campbell, and doesn't possess enough movement to really trouble Diaz, which is one of his biggest weaknesses. I didn't think JMM was that convincing against a very old Casa, who really at this stage of his career simply isn't as good as Juan Diaz is right now. I see Diaz turning this into a rough fight, and using his size and strength, as well as his under rated handspeed to really trouble Marquez. Marquez simply won't be able to keep up a high level of intensity in a rough fight, against a naturally stronger and bigger opponent at this stage of his career. Where as Pac gives you room to box and move, Diaz will be right on his chest all night. Maybe even a late stoppage for Juan??
Marquez still hungry for re-match with Pac.Too skilled and smart for Diaz.U.D or late round stoppage for J.M.M
Diaz would have the longer reach though, and has an excellent jab himself, one that is very under rated. I really have trouble seeing JMM constantly landing his jab and controlling the fight with it, when Juan has such a strong jab also.
Im picking JMM by UD by I wont be surprise if hes on the wrong end of a decision especially if its in Houston, Diaz's turf. Katsidas/Diaz was more closer than what the cards say and the judges tried to give Diaz a gift against Campbell and that fight was no where near close. JMM was going into the 11th round against Casa even on the scorecards, and was on the other side of a close decision against Pac which he and many of his fans thought he won.
Im really not sold to the Baby Bull being an elite fighter, so im going with JMM. I'll be surprised if JD can overwhelmed JMM with his feather fisted combination.
Marquez by close Decision. I see Diaz putting up his usual high pressure and high volume routine but that falls right into Marquez's style who counters him all night to a decision. Since Diaz is a pretty good boxer himself this will not be a complete technician vs brawler type of fight, it will get a bit interesting in the way Diaz will try to approach the fight at different points but Marquez as the superior boxer will be able to handle anything Diaz gives him. JMM by close but clear decision. Marquez has to be very focused and sharp that night as Diaz will not stop throwing, will not be discouraged, and may have the speed advantage.
I don't see anybody going down in this fight, and thats because Diaz has a good chin but feather fisted. In fact if anybody is to go down it would be JD if JMM catches him with a hard counter in the inside as JD rushes in.
I dont know, my head tells me JMM, but something in my gut about Diaz is saying that he will dominate JMM.
50-50 fight. Though I'm leaning towards JMM. This will not be easy for him AT ALL. You can't just easily counter 4-5 lightning speed combinations being thrown at you constantly. This is a different kind of pressure fighter he's facing and I won't be surprised if he loses.
