Juan Diaz vs Manny Pacquiao

IMO, Pac needs to fight someone first at Lightweight before fighting Juan Diaz in order to get a feel of everything in that weight. Its totally ill-adviced to come rushing in for Juan without testing himself first. Its also a good way for us to gauge how much power Pac would carry with him.

I strongly disagree with alot of people here saying that Pac has close to nothing chance of carrying his power at Lightweight and hurting Diaz. I'm not saying that it's certain Pac will carry his power, but let's also not jump into conlusions and say that Pac will have no power at LW. Especially if your talking about him who had enormous power at 122, and 2 divisions later.. STILL regarded as one of the biggest power punchers p4p today, irregardless of whether he still has that one-punch KO power or not.

Anyway, that aside, I'm also a bit concerned about Pac's stamina at LW. We all know he has monstrous stamina at SFW, but LW is 1 division above with bigger and stronger fighters, so its not exactly the same. But if Pac carries his power(atleast enough power to hurt and push back Juan) and enough stamina, then I reckon he has a very good chance of winning. He has better movement, better footwork, has the edge in handspeed and is just much more explosive. Plus Juan has never faced a guy with as much speed as Pac. Honestly with Juan's build and flat-footedness, I can see Pac's blindingly fast straight left hitting Juan quite a lot. Diaz has to speed up his overall movement much more than what he showed against Popo and Julio if he does not wish to get tagged alot by that straight left or any of the major punches of Pacquiao for that matter.

Although even then it would still be a tough fight for Pac and I'm not gonna be surprised if Juan still wins. He's SUPER relentless and is SUPER hard to push back. Pac's gonna have to move alot more than he used to, plus there's always the relentless volume punching(both to the head and body)and combinations of Diaz which would give Pac major trouble and might wear him down later in the fight.

Either way, this would be a VERY exciting and VERY competitive fight. Contrary to what alot of people say, I don't think its gonna be a one-sided fight at all. But I'm rooting for Pac to win by either late T/KO or by decision. But that's only, and ONLY IF, Pac carries his power and stamina at LW. If he doesn't, he would not be able to contain and stop Diaz' barrage of punches which would result in a Diaz stoppage due to accumulation of punches.

 

No you didn't. You posted he was a bit overrated, which is basically repeating what someone else already said, which is what my post was in response to in the first place. You never gave any concrete reason as to why.

The only thing you gave that even remotely resembled a reason was to say he ducked 2 fighters who had no interest in fighting him because they were fighting each other for big money, something you seem to advocate for your favorite fighter. This would be like me saying Guzman is ducking Pacquiao, when Pacquiao has no interest in fighting him because he is fighting a bigger name champion. I have already shot down your pitiful reasoning, or what you thought was reasoning.

 

Great fighters always ask for the Big fights. They don't just stay in the sideline. Pac fought MAB in between the 2nd & 3rd fight of the trilogy. Diaz stays quiet while Chico & Castillo were at the top of the 135 pounders. Juan was already a title holder then.. Why he never call those guys????

Why did Pacquiao never call out Mark Johnson (Top 10 P4P) when he was champion at 112?

Why did Pacquiao never call out Ayala at 122 (The Ring champion)?

Sure later on in his career he stepped up. Diaz is doing the same now, cleaning out his division and fighting nothing but the best his division has to offer.

BTW there was no break in between the Castillo/Corrales series like there was in the Morales/Barrera fights. And Casamayor was the mandatory for Corrales. So Diaz had no shot at him.

I have no chance to talk to Pac, too many fans he need to get attentions. But I got a Picture with him, but he was looking in a different direction. My cousin was Packing slow with the camera.

 

Pac was busy cleaning the best of asia when MJ was the champ. Pac moved up in weight.

Pac calls Ayala, Watch the end of Pac-Julio/Lucero fight, but he settles with P4P MAB.

I appriciate diaz now after he beat Freitas & Julio, But you guys telling us Pac can't hurt him,.... That's overrating.

Even a past-prime Freitas hits much harder than Pac at 135 and he wasn't able to shake Diaz.

And Pacquiao fought Lucero after Ayala had already moved up to 126 and lost to Morales. So sorry if I am not buying that "call out" And he fought Julio after the Morales fight was already signed.

Pac to me is just the Greatest 130 pounder & below fighter. Just a Big Fan. The feeling was like when you see Mickey Mouse 1st time at disneyland during your Childhood days.

Diaz knocks Pacquiao out - no question about it ... he's too big and PacMan won't hit as hard at lightweight ... PacMans jab isn't good enough to stop Diaz in his tracks.

 

People are overrating Diaz power and underrating Pac's. Pac put Morales down in 3, LW David couldnt do it in 12. A 135 Pac is gonna be even more powerful and the fact that Diaz walks into straight punches says to me that its lightsout within 6 round. Pac by KO.

Seriously, I would give Guzman & Valero a much higher chance of beating Pacman. Infact right now im 50/50 with Guzzy-Pac but Diaz brings nothing to the table to beat Pac. Pac has been beaten by great boxers, great boxers with iron chins who tried to slug it out paid dearly.

 

Picked Diaz, i need to see Pac get used to this weight first, i suggest he fight tune ups (1 or 2) before he takes on the champ. But we know it wont happen, bad for business (Arum). Pac will be hurried to fight Diaz and gets humiliated.
