Juan Diaz all the way. The loss well is just a loss. He is one of my favorite fighters and as i have always said will be a top p4p fighter in the future. The kid had 3 belts at a time and he was only what about 24-23.

This kid has alot of talent and it would be a shame to have him leave the sport for school. Iknow that sounds selfish of me but he is too damn fun to watch.
I moved recently and im only 2 1/2 hours from Houston. It sux i cant go to this fight. So close yet so far...

I'm going the opposite way folks. I think Katsidis wins. Juan's style is the style that suits Katz IMO. There's no doubt that Katz' bombs will land on Diaz and I don't think Diaz can take all of it as tough as he is. He'll go down by accumulation IMO.

    Katsidis KO9.

Your crazy sting. You forget that diaz can also box and although he prefers to slug it out he still has the chin advantage.
Why do people think Diaz can't punch? I think making people quit is actually worse than KOing them.
I think Diaz will start boxing then once he sees katsidis can't compete he will slug and take him out towards the end.

I'm a big fan of both fighters....I'm picking Juan but could still see Katz winning if he goes to the body enough. This fight will be a deathmatch, certainly FOTY material:good

Oh come on now. Me picking Katsidis is not crazy. Its not that one-sided as you make it out to be. This is a close and competitive fight in which both fighters can win. But I'm picking Katsidis' to win

The fact is, Juan Diaz likes to go in front of his opponent and slug it out. He can box but I think its highly unlikely that he uses that against Katz as he doesnt really use it that much. And even if he does its not a sure shot win for him either. If he chooses to box, it would affect his vaunted and hellish workrate that he always uses. Meaning his workrate would be reduced and he would be more of a thinking fighter picking his shots than just going out there and punishing his opponent like he usually does.

IMO that's not the style to use against Mikey. The Casamayor fight showed it as Mikey was taking rounds off from a skilled master boxer/slickster. Casa only won that because he had POWER to KO Katsidis in 1 or 2 shots. Diaz doesn't have that kind of power to complement his boxing skills against a huge puncher and come forward fighter like Katsidis. Volume punching, not boxing, is what Juan gets his stoppages from.

And that's the best way for Diaz to win this fight. Do what he's best at and just go out there and punish Katz nonstop. Some posters here already made a legitimate point about Diaz' workrate beating Katsidis due to cuts because Katz does indeed cut easily. Its just that for me I see Katsidis' advantages as larger than Diaz's. Diaz is a come forward swarmer, and that plays into Katsidis' hands who is a puncher. Stylewise Puncher > Swarmer. And I don't see this fight as different. Yes Diaz has a good chin, but then again, he hasnt faced any monster punchers before except for maybe Freitas. But even then, Freitas was already over the hill and doesn't seem to have that sting in his shots anymore. With Katsidis, Diaz is facing a huge puncher, who is young and hungry. Remember that Katsidis' has good handspeed himself and can actually string combinations well and he's no slouch on the workrate department either. So he'll surely land some big shots on Diaz. And I don't think Diaz can hold up for the whole fight with that.

Diaz will stop Katsidis late on cuts IMO. He will land a lot of leather on Katsidis face prompting the referee or the corner to stop it. Diaz might get rocked once on twice during the fight though.
