What sort of logic doesn't work?

And why give an example that is completely unrelated to what I said?

    You are using a beats b, b beats c, so a must beat c.

    Whereas my logic was:

    (a) Katsidis took five rounds to take out Graham Earl, despite being able to unload on him at will, so I feel his vaunted power to be overrated - Earl is not that granite chinned (supporting evidence Earl being ko'd in one in his next fight).

    (b) The fight gave me concerns about Katsidis' chin, given that Earl (never a power puncher, even at lower than World level) had him in serious trouble with one shot (supporting evidence Katsidis being knocked down three times and stopped by Casamayor, not the biggest puncher in the world, in his next fight).

    Which part doesn't work?

To be fair Cobbler Casa is a timing master, and as we both now the punch you don't see will put your ass down, that being said I'm assuming you're picking Diaz??? and based on what? What does Diaz bring to the table that Katz can't handle???

Certainly agree on Casa, and so I would be hesitant to read too much into that fight with regard to how Katsidis v Diaz goes.

The problem is, if you remove that fight, then Katsidis' resume is remarkably thin.

Diaz has operated with success at a far higher level, so I would pick Diaz solely on that basis. It's a pick for known form over hype as far as I'm concerned. Katsidis can win, but if he were to do so he would be stepping up hugely on anything he has done before. Diaz can win by producing a level of form that we know he is capable of.

People speak like Diaz is feather fisted, but he has ended five of eight wins at World title level within the distance - again that is a higher level than Katsidis has ever won a fight at. Katsidis has known defense issues (he has none) and what can charitably be described as 'question marks' over his chin. Diaz will hit him a lot, and has plenty enough power to hurt him.

My sentiments but I think Katsidas gets stopped on cuts, TKO for Juan, who has the better defense and better skills all around......lets not forget that chin either:yep

Don't get your hopes up thunder. Cobbler has made some serious points you should consider before being to sure of yourself. I'm glad you want Katz to win but I don't want you to be to heartbroken, like I was after Cotto-Margo:lol: :patsch  :patsch

 I can tell mate:lol: I'm a huge fan of both fighters but I'm pretty sure Juan takes it for the reason listed that are the ones you know deep down as well. But who knows? with these fighters anything is possible and you could prove most of us on here all wrong:) But I doubt it:lol:

A week till this war ensues...I'm beginning to think Katsidis may be much tougher for Juan than I previously thought or maybe its just the highlight I saw of him to Conan music:lol:
Anyone else psyched for this fight?

Until Teddy Atlas makes a prediction, nothing is a lock.

Diaz should win this one. His relentless offense should cut Katsidis' face to shreds.
