For the love of god...are there any posters on here that can come up with a better, more thought out scenario than "Cottos too big and strong for him" completely ignoring the valid points I've made?? Apparently not
Sure I can see a Cotto win but rest assured it wouldnt come easy......So can someone please tell me how Cotto who is but 1 inch taller, has an equal reach and not half as active can befuddle the pressure and workrate of Juan Diaz????
    Here it is:
If Cotto decides to fight on the inside he will lose a decision
Juan is easily the better fighter inside
To win Cotto would need to play the role of boxer instead of puncher, moving laterally, get punches off before Juan gets inside and goes to work....Its baffeling to me how some people on here can write a guy off over 6 pounds....

I would be forced to say Cotto. Baby bull will go the distance b/c of his heart though.

Well what are you expecting to hear?

You can't expect the power not being mentioned here because Cotto is at 147, Diaz is now fighting at 135 . . . you are trying to ignore a major factor. Even if they are the same height Cotto has a natural bigger body frame . . . reason why other posters are saying "bigger"

Do you honestly think that Cotto's punches won't be felt by Diaz in a way that Diaz can simply rain Cotto with his volume of punches like what he is doing now at 135? Think again and be real . . . even if they exchange punches "tit for tat" Diaz will lose because Cotto's punches will hurt Diaz more than the otherway around. Cotto's puhes can stop Diaz dead on his track.

I've already mentioned Diaz not making it past Hatton or Torres at 140 . . . and yet you are ignoring it.

Cotto on pure strength. Diaz could land 3 to every one of Cotto's shots and still find himself on the canvass at the end of the night.

I don't think Diaz could beat Hatton at 140 - at 147 Cotto will absolutely destroy him. And THAT would be upsetting, because Diaz is so damn awesome.

alfonso gomez has a better shot at beating Cotto than the Baby Bull this is a easy fight to predict...

Cotto will dismantle Baby bull within 6 rds

As a matter of fact Baby Bull won a comfortable decision against Cotto's older brother in the 135 lb division ...they went toe to toe for 12 rds ...Diaz couldn't stop Cotto's older smaller brother in a toe to toe fight for 12 rds so what does that tell you ?

Miguel fights with intelligence and will have Baby Bull calling it quits within six !

What the hell kind of problems would Diaz pose to Miguel Cotto? Please someone enlighten me, you can't punch powder puff punches as many times as Diaz normally does when you're getting perfectly timed and systematically broken down with nice body shits and neck breaking jabs from an absolute monster like Cotto. His soft belly would be tested!

Diaz reminds me a lot of Cotto minus the power. Cotto would win after it been competitive early.

Sam Peter is an inch shorter than Paul wiliams and williams has a 6 inch reach advantage over him. Guess that means that they are about the same size and Peter would have all types of trouble with Paul williams workrate. Peter may win but I doubt it would be easy. (hint that was sarcasm)

Size is about more than just height and reach. cotto has wider shoulders, bigger arms, bigger legs and KO's welterweights with single body shots while Diaz takes 1000 punches to make a lightweight quit. Diaz is an excellent fighter but cotto is too big and too strong for him and he would walk right through him. Diaz may land a lot of leather but it would bounce harmlessly off of Cotto as Cotto walks him down and KO's him with the harder shots.

Diaz is fleshy at Lightweight. Cotto would be too big and strong, diaz would be out muscled and TKOd within 8 rounds imo.

Its the weights that tasrnish this fight. Maybe if Cotto was a weight drained light welter and Diaz moved to 140 it would be more compeitive but as it stands Cotto bashes him up.
