Hatton?... That overhyped limey wrestler would be owned by Diaz with EASE.......You must be stoned Back to topic:roll: I just want to make a quick comparison that may help put things in perspective If Cotto can be tagged, countered and stunned by Malignaggi(who by the way would be thoroughly dominated by Juan), than would'nt it be fair to say that a more resilient fighter, would at least have similar opportunites...all this despite Diaz and Malignaggi being polar opposites as far as fighting style is concerned the difference in power I believe goes to Juan...bare in mind mates that Juan could be stronger at 141-147......I have a feeling that if the fight was ever made and Juan carried the extra pounds nicely that many of you would'nt be so sure of a Cotto win
Juan Diaz is a very light puncher. Hatton would throw him around the ring and destroy him with bodyshots. When Diaz hits fighters with 5 hit combinations, they keep on walking unphased until eventually once they receive 1000punches to the head they give in. When Pavlik, Pac, Cotto or even PBF hits a fighter with a 5 hit combo, at the very least they buckly if not fall to the ground. Diaz is pudgy now at 135, he'll be a smaller version of James Toney at 140lb. As for Hatton being overhyped. Well at least he was the undisputed champ at 140 and 147 titlist. On top of that he has Kostya & Castillo, though both were past prime they both would still beat Juan Diaz...or atleast Kostya would. Besides, forget Hatton. If Pac fights Juan, theres another fighter who will take him out. Juan cannot compete with the true pressure fighters in the sport who also carries power, namely Pac, Hatton & Cotto.
Ignorant? Not really . . . there's only one person justifying a 135lber beating the 147 lber . . . the thread starter.
You people are incredibleatsch Ive previously stated that Cotto would more than likely win......I'm merely trying to expand the thought capacity of some skeptics.......It's a certainly more debatable fight than Pac-DLH:deal So take it easy already and don't hate me for trying to inspire some creative and unbiased thinking in some of you:good Cheers
Cotto and the fight wouldn't go the distance. He could not only out box Diaz, but he could overwelme him by coming foward and meeting him punch for punch. Cotto just has more in his arsenal. Hes faster, he hits harder, can fight going backwards, and he has the better inside (and outside) game. Diaz's shots would also have no affect on Cotto as Cotto is the naturally bigger man. In an exciting affair, i see Cotto eventually wearing Diaz down and stopping him in the later rounds. Cotto TKO 9.
WoW....I'm surprised and impressed..... I agree with your analysis..mostly....I think Diaz has the better inside game at least by a little:deal Of course everyone is resorting to the Diaz is weak, not a puncher etc. this is not entirely the case mates......Diaz is relentless, has great defense(honestly theres not many times he gets hit flush and when he does he answers much louder) So just to get an idea the only thing that wins Cotto the fight is his power??:think
Miguel Cotto knocks Juan Diaz out quickly... Too much skill and too much power for Diaz to handle. I wish he would move up to 140 and get KTFO.
cotto is alot better than his brother and when his brother fought diaz it was a great fight but jose cotto didnt have power to back him up
