Malignaggi did box off Ndou's ears in thier first fight. That was by far Paulie's best performance, and the only time he's looked impressive. But I dont think he'll ever reach that form again.

That's the way I see it. He could not handle the pressure Hatton gave him so I don't expect him to handle the Torito Express.

this fight is all wrong for diaz, sure paulie doesnt have power, but paulie is a very smart ring technician just like marquez...paulie will put this overrated FAT LIGHTWEIGHT back to gatekeeper status, I wish diaz would loose the man boobs and campaign at 130 instead of at 140.....

paulie OUTCLASSES this overrated guy, no disrespect to diaz solid fighter, but not elite or even great.

Interesting fight. Diaz will probably come in with more confidence and concentrate on knocking out Paulie. Paulie's chance recides in his slick style to outpoint Diaz. If that's their gameplan, I see Juan winning, but if the plans are different, who knows.

The other thing is, we have no idea how Diaz is going to bounce back- the last fight he had was the JMM one. Paulie didn't look great in his rebound fight from Hatton, but it's usually better to take a fight like that directly off of a bad loss than to step right back into a tough fight. We've got a good 135 pounder who doesn't look like he's got the build to work at 140, coming off a brutal KO loss, moving up against a guy who's taken a couple beatings, looks like he lost interest, but is also bigger and faster with an upgrade at trainer. It's an interesting fight, and I could see why people aren't thrilled about Malignaggi, but it's surprising how many people are assuming Diaz is going to bounce back better than ever in a new weight class coming directly off a loss like that.

Might as well throw up the obligatory "bump" to the pre-fight thread now that it's gone down.
