Man, to break it down... Floyd did some unbelievable stuff, his jab over the jab over the jab (that's right he shoots 1 and 3 because after opponent shoots 2 he doesn't expect 3 to come back... Man his inside game, he was able to parry with one hand THEN shoot an uppercut with the same hand in close... Then his possum lean forward then pull back (while still being in range) lead right was a thing of beauty. A slick counterpunch. It is for that reason I believe that a Juan diaz fight would be like a lower weight version of Maidana fights except without the dirty stuff ...

Diaz on the other hand may not be able to knock you out but he damn sure would throw enough punches to make you remember him. Now we all know Juan diaz lost to Campbell, a big powerful puncher, but Floyd does not have that threat in his arsenal. However Juan diaz is one of the best conditioned athletes in the world!

How would you guys see this fight turning out? I would say a war the best man wins. Juan would throw 100 punches a round and Floyd would be putting in a Picasso like performance. This would've happened before the Gatti fight so Floyd would still be fresh. His legs, everything. And Juan would be swimming for training with his coach monitoring him with some of the most mundane tasks, like making sure he doesn't get a cold before the fight . So defensive wizardry vs offensive machine, each guy is an expert in one of those, the other one the rather.

Floyd was more dangerous than Campbell. You must have Floyd confused with Stevie Johnston.

You're right, Floyd is more dangerous. But does Nate Campbell have a harder punch ? That's the main thing I was alluding to, punching power. Or do you feel Floyd has a harder punch?

Mayweather put away Hatton and Victor Ortiz. Not only are those better knockouts than Campbell has, but Ortiz beat Campbell

Dude, please. I'm not a Mayweather Jr. Nut as some here are. I definitely don't believe he's the greatest fighter in history, ( Not even in my top 20) But he'd take a fighter like Diaz apart easily. Especially at 135.
Diaz has no way to win against May Jr. He's not bigger, he's definitely not near as skilled, doesn't have overwhelming firepower to go with his work rate. And he isn't going to out condition May Jr either.
May Jr. Goes to the club after this short, easy night.

It would be a repeat of Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Jesus Chavez, I don't see that Diaz is any real better than a prime Jesus Chavez.

Although Diaz was close to shot, Malignaggi comprehensively outboxed Diaz twice and almost stopped him in their last endeavor. Mayweather would of beat up, most likely stopped a midget like Diaz who had no physical advantages over Floyd, especially with his T-Rex arms. I liked Diaz though, he was one of my favorites as a kid growing up during the last hurrah of HBO boxing. He was in my p4p rankings in 07 before Campbell beat him up in his hometown and 07 was the last historic year of boxing, being stacked with talent top to bottom. Needless to say, I was gutted at the loss especially since Juan Diaz was close to unifying the Lightweight division and he was the best of 3 Diaz LW champs in David, Julio and Juan. Although he had little power, he made up for it with an aggressive style and high work rate. Everything fell apart during the Campbell loss though and he was completely finished after his FOTY with Marquez where he suffered a nasty beating.
