Could it be possible these two guys match up after their fights on the 12th? Who wins if they ever fight?
I doubt it. Diaz is a lightweight and he will probably go back down to lightweight after he gets beat by Paulie this go around. If he did fight Ortiz, Ortiz would be too big and strong for him. It would be a murder in a round or two.
Ortiz is all wrong for Diaz. Diaz, being a fighter who likes to bully and push his opponent back, would walk into big power punches by a larger and stronger fighter with serious power. Ortiz KO...
Ortiz would hammer his ass. Diaz straight forward style would get him killed against hard hitting Ortiz.
Ortiz would stop Diaz. Of course he would have to ask Maidana for his soul back before fighting Diaz.
I don't think Diaz can take too many Ortiz shots. It would be an entertaining fight, but I think Ortiz would take it.
ortiz by mid-round KO.....diaz is going back to lightweight after paulie WIDE UD's him this time....diaz is way way to sluggish above 135.....he is an elite/world class lightweight....
It'd be a fun fight to watch while it lasts but Ortiz gets him. Vic is probably going to move up within the next couple years as he is still young and growing, while Juan Diaz is moving down to lightweight.
Im picking Diaz over Malingaggi and I think fans underappreaciate him,Paulie should be the one u guys should be hating on. Back to the thread although im a diaz fan Ortiz is the last guy Diaz should be matched up with. Diaz would be made for him. In fact I think the only fighters Ortiz has to worry about are punchers .He beats just about anyone thats not a good puncher, and Diaz is barely and average puncher at 135. Id say Ortiz takes this early hes just bigger way stronger and Diaz would come right into him. Diaz would make Ortiz look like a 14O lb Prime MikeTyson. ORtiz ko 3.
Yep, Ortiz is in the prime of his life at light welter, Diaz would be out of his best weight class, unable to really hurt Ortiz, probably, and I think he's seen his best days. Diaz was a respectable champ, but even at his young age, he gets bloodied easily and I think he's just a bit burnt out. It may be just that his last two fights were A: Against an ATG then B: against a very good boxer in the wrong weight class. But still, Ortiz would maybe hurt him badly. Not just stop him.
Juan Diaz would be absolutely brutalized. He is not a 140'er. He looks pudgy even at 135. If he trains enough, he can probably make 130 or even lower. All the top guys at 140 would smash Diaz.
