Lance beat me to it. Completely different styles.
Unlike Rios, Campbell can both fight at distance and brawl on the inside.

Diaz when on the inside moves his feet and changes the angles. When he'd do that against Campbell, Campbell would back up to find distance, where he'd jab Diaz.

As Lance said, Campbell was able to do that because he's a pretty good technical fighter.
Technically and boxistically speaking, Rios is'nt in that league.

Against Rios, Diaz pretty much would know what to anticipate from a Rios that mostly will come at him in a straight line.

Rios likes to fight up close and brawl, but as hard a puncher as he is, hard punchers need that little extra seperation.....something further than real close but less than mid distance.
Diaz who is'nt a puncher likes it as close as he can get it where he can smuther the shots of a big puncher like Rios.

An example of a fighter smuthering the shots of a big puncher and making him look like less than an average puncher is JC Chavez up and real close smuthering Edwin Rosario's punches.

Rosario loved to fight up close, but to unleach his power, he needed those extra inches of seperation to deliver that power.
Chavez made sure not to give him those extra inches.

I see Juan Diaz doing something along those lines to Rios, though I see Rios being more competitive against Diaz than Rosario was against Chavez.

    Diaz will come back.
He's gonna start his own law office, and could use the extra income.

Diaz is only asking for the Rios fight.

So you saying Campbell was fighting like Rios on the inside but fought like lets say Peterson from the distanse? lol. I watch Diaz vs Campbell many times and if i remember, Campbell out fought Diaz fight in which he beat Diaz at Diaz own game. Campbell was roughing Diaz up wouldn't let Diaz breath. Rios would do it better but worse cause Rios got better pop with both hands. A retired Diaz will get destroyed by a young hungry lion like Rios. If that fight ever happens, i'll bet you on any money if you have soo faith in Diaz.

Would be better than fighting mab, that's for sure. But i'd rather see him face vasquez since they're pretty much the top two lw's out there now

Campbell had the technical ability to dart out and shoot the jab from distance

Look at the variance from Nate Campbell. He boxes from distance using the jab, he moves, he counterpunches both from distance and up close.....
....Only late in the fight did Campbell rely more on brawling because by that time, Diaz was cut up and worn down.

Sure Campbell had his spells where he brawled Diaz, however Campbell is a much more versatile fighter than Brandon Rios and throughout the fight he did more than just brawl. Its that versatility that served him well against Juan Diaz.

    I know.

Vazquez & Rios are both with Top Rank, and a Unification of their titles can easily be made, but Rios is ducking Miguel "El Titere" Vazuez.
