    Round 6

Wilson is following and getting lit up with counters from Tapia, delivered in a light dusting while circling wide. Lots of directional changes and even a bit of stance-switching by Tapia. Wilson just watches him, gloves tethered fixedly to his eye sockets. A few stiff jabs by Wilson, lunging, missing as Tapia moves and feathers in fours and fives.

    10-9 Tapia

    58-56 Tapia

To paraphrase Big George Foreman, these are men right here.

Even if his puncher's record was inflated by flattering opposition until now, as suspected, Tapia is earning some respect here by staying mentally locked in here and not folding under Wilson's pressure even after having gotten rocked a few times early. Wilson, meanwhile, is sticking to his own perhaps foolhardy but definitely bad-ass game plan even though he's eating tons of leather.

I like Tapia. He can take a punch, has a great uppercut and he seems to have a big heart.

So I guess means Shabranskyy a Light Heavyweight hits harder than a former Heavyweight now Cruiserweight. Slava dropped Wilson for the second time in this round.

    Round 7

Wilson is unable to get past Tapia's jab. Combinations sent down the drawbridge by Tapia while turning Wilson, quickly reeling his arms back in and up to protect his face as Wilson explodes with hooks in the hopes of catching him in transition. Responsible defense by Tapia, while remaining the busier man, throwing light combos off the jab at mid-range and tying up when the big jumping hooks of Wilson carry him inside like a gust of wind.

    10-9 Tapia

    68-65 Tapia

    Round 8

Wilson is tossing himself bodily at Tapia with the high jab, snapping it as he vaults off his rear leg to leave the canvas and hurtle in. Tapia is freezing him with the jab and sprinkling in uppercuts. Tapia working tirelessly in combination but not getting sloppy or dropping his guard. Increasingly desperate but persistent lunges by Wilson leaping in, still managing to load up with full power, not arm punches. Right uppercut leads followed by left hooks from Wilson, just missing.

    10-9 Tapia

    78-74 Tapia
