If Argentina hadn't so fervently hoarded his talents, we would have seen a true God of the Game.

He should hve done better with Hearns but he kept dropping his hands. He blew it. but he did a job on Kinchen, doesnt let you box him but instead, keeps you on the defensive

I believe Thomas Hearns said he was the hardest puncher he ever faced.

I bet Animal Fletcher thinks he was a good fighter.

Immensely strong, awkward, hard puncher, gave Hagler a real good fight.

Watching the Hearns fight at the time I felt it was a fight he could have won if he had used some other part of his body apart from his head as his first line of defence.

By the time of the Nunn fight I think his heart had totally gone out of the game.

Worthy of a lot of respect, imo. A candidate for the 2nd best MW of the 1st half of the 80s?

He improved quite a bit from the Teddy Mann fight. So many times with the brawlers, as soon as they meet a tough guy that goes the distance, we see permanent warts and flaws show up. Here was a guy that actually improved.

Always wanted him and Barkley. Could have made the bout back in the old espn days.
