There was a time when this would have been setting of FOTY type bells but now... ...is Marquez done? Or is he going to shuffle back the clock and make this interesting? It's this weekend.
I think he might make it interesting, will he win....no, but he might make to the 10th or 11th round.
Marquez's punch will always give him a shot but vs Estrada it's an extremely thin chance. It will be interesting to see how JFE goes about dismantling him.
Put it this way: Marquez is a former world champion and been in there with some top quality fighters. However I see this as a bigger mismatch than Wilder v Duhapuss this weekend. The French guy has a punchers chance v Wilder. I can't even give Marquez that here (you can stand up to Roman Gonzalez for 12 rounds, I'm pretty confident you can handle a shopworn Tyson Marquez)
The punch may be the last to go......but the ability to get out of the way of them is the first. I see Estrada butchering Tyson similar to the way he did Segura.
He didn't look shot to bits to me. At all. In fact, he displayed literally zero of the elements associated with shot. He wasn't desperately slow, he wasn't gunshy, he didn't show a diminished chin and he didn't fail to pull the trigger, the opposite in fact. But, yeah, his recent record going in indicated that he was something approaching shot.
:blood You really follow boxing (and flyweight in particular) closely, huh? This happened last night and it was extremely competitive throughout, even in both the rounds where Estrada scored 2 knockdowns. Marquez looked anything but shot.
