 I didn't know this got rescheduled! :happy

    :freddy :rocker :woot

It was originally scheduled for March and then quietly fell by the wayside (with El Gallo Estrada defending his titles against Rommel Assenjo instead; Tyson Marquez has meanwhile fought twice...all three of their combined bouts having been won via TKO)

Now, just as under the radar, GAME ON!!! - this Saturday, headlining a card on beIN Sports en Español.

    Random thoughts:

-should be very exciting as both usually are
-Estrada's last 4 opponents have been southpaws like Marquez
-Hernan Marquez just turned 27 earlier this month
-Marquez is clearly badly faded from the Concepcion-days, however I still find this to be a worthy and quality enough defense for Estrada. That said, Estrada's momentum hit a wall himself after the Segura destruction one year ago.
    -Prediction: Estrada TKO9

    Shocks me for some reason.

El Nica is only 29. It seems like their wars (or rather, war plus rematch blitz) came hot on the heels of the Rafa Marquez vs. Izzy Vazquez trilogy...and I guess they did, except the participants in the former were essentially in their career twilight while the latter were smack in the bloom of their primes. :think

If you look at Concepción, though, he just nabbed a world title belt from a very good fighter...and he was considered to be more ruined than Márquez. So maybe there is a glimmer of hope....especially if we get an under-prepped or arrogantly looking-ahead version of Estrada (with the foremost cautionary tale being his fellow Chocolatito victim-cum-rematch-chaser Francisco Rodriguez Jr., who looked awful in Fajardo I and probably even deserved to lose to a nobody...)

...Estrada inside 7. Estrada had his "looking poor" bout against Alvarez and will now know he needs to turn up.

I actually wouldn't consider Márquez over Estrada to be THAT much greater an upset than Concepción over Sanchez, actually. :think

For the record I'm rooting for Marquez by KO.

    :good

I have absolutely nothing against El Gallo but he can recover from a loss here and Tyson deserves another walk in the sun (and this is maybe his last chance)

And if he pulls that off, we could get Marquez-Segura 2:happy

Sidenote Marquez is a Scorpio (according to some charts), Segura is an Aries... two warrior signs = FOTY:deal Pascal a Scorpio.... Kovalev an Aries FOTY. There's a pattern here.:deal

Tyson Marquez has looked absolutely dreadful. His fight against Tirado didn't look good. Not a big fight. Honestly, a bit of a farce too. Estrada needs to be fighting someone better.

    :conf

Even if this ends up being the mismatch we all fear it could be, Estrada still has plenty of time in his career to gloss over a couple of ugly spots (and Márquez wouldn't even be his worst defense currently) - and they do have unfinished business from this past spring. At least we get some closure on that.

Tyson is past prime since Viloria destroyed him.
