Round 1

The undefeated Esquer is finding it hard to land anything clean on the taller and much longer Cardenas. As Esquer comes in, he gets peppered with jabs by Cardenas. Esquer threw a lot more but his punches were either blocked or hit air. Cardenas landed the cleaner and better-looking work.

Round 2

Esquer throwing a lot of wide hooks to start. A wide left hook lands flush on Cardenas. He handles it well. Esquer now attacking the body. Nice right hand by Cardenas set up by the jab. A counter right by Cardenas has Esquer wobbled, His legs look unsteady. Cardenas lands a combo as Esquer is pushed towards the ropes. Left hook to the body by Esquer lands. A perfect right uppercut drops the undefeated Esquer for the count! The referee stops the fight as Esquer struggled to get up!

TKO2 win for Cardenas!

Emanuel Navarrete (15-1, 13 KO) vs. Martin Casillas (15-8-1, 9 KO), 10 RDS @ Super Bantamweight

 

Box Azteca has it but it's also on BeIN Sports en Espanol. I'm watching it on Box Azteca, which seems to be late compared to the BeIN feed.

 

Round 1

Navarrete throwing some nice combos as Casillas attempts to cover up with a high guard. An uppercut by Navarrete goes through. Left and right hooks land as well. The much smaller Casillas not landing much, if at all, as Navarrete is controlling the distance well and throwing some hard ones as Casillas comes in.

Round 2

Navarrete throwing a nice variety of punches. Casillas just can't force his way on the inside as he gets peppered with Navarrete's power when he does attempt to get in. And Navarrete isn't stationary at all. Evading Casillas' slow punches both with his upperbody movement and his legs. Combos left and right from Navarrete. 8-or-so punch combo in the last 20 seconds by Navarrete to punctuate the round.

Round 3

Navarrete starts off the round with some quick combos, which as usual, Casillas has no answer for. Casillas is real gutsy in there, he just keeps moving forward even though he's completely being outpunched and outclassed here. Navarrete isn't the quickest guy but he has ok speed and a fluidity in his combos. Casillas lands a decent left hook on Navarrete's chin but doesn't really do anything.

Round 4

Right hand over Casillas' guard lands for Navarrete. Casillas finally gets inside but his wide left hook is blocked. He lands a decent right hook but Navarrete answers with some body shots and a quick combo upstairs. Body shots again by "Vaquero" Navarrete. Decent combo by Casillas as Navarrete momentarily stopped moving. Uppercut, right straights, and body-shot combo by Navarrete to end the round.
