Miguel Berchelt vs. Rene Gonzalez, 12 rounds @ super featherweight

 

Berchelt's power is downright scary.

 

Super Chirizo is game as hell. Several times in the 1st he was rocked, wobbling on a single pogo-stick leg, and yet somehow never went down. (whereas it seemed at times he was on the verge of a KO1 loss)

...and he kept gathering his wits and coming right back with combos. :bbb

This is a GREAT fight brewing here, shame it will conflict with González vs. Russell Jr. on Showtime. (Heck, at this rate, if they keep bombing away like this, one is going to end up going to sleep and cause Estrada vs. Assenjo to conflict with Showtime as well... :err)

 

Gonzalez has taken some rifle-blasts at short range but is actually throwing and landing more, giving Berchelt no ground.

Both on point offensively. Gonzalez scoring more, Berchelt harder.

Could be 20-18 MB or 19 each.

 

I'm switching over to Showtime now but definitely saving this on DVR for later viewing. :thumbsup

Ooh, vicious!!! Berchelt puts Gonzalez in a WORLD of pain and thick mental fog with a blatant foul, a chopping rabbit punch while pushing his opponent's head down (in a "road-head" position) then follows up with a brutal salvo.

That would've been such a cheap & slimy W if he got it that way, but somehow, amazingly Gonzalez shows more resiliency and rides out the more than a minute's remainder on the clock until the bell - and throwing combos, even!

They're showing highlight clips of Estrada vs. Mepranum (the penultimate time El Gallo fought a Pinoy...tonight Assenjo will be his fifth opponent from the Philippines in six bouts, with Giovani Segura as the combo-breaker)

 

Berchelt vs. Gonzalez obviously ended inside schedule but I don't know the result; nobody spoil it please. I'm going to rewind and catch up on it after the live main event here wraps up.
