    Where has he gone?
He's fought just TWICE in the last 16 months (stopping the woeful Rommen Asenjo in March 2015 and then the shot but gutsy Hernan Marquez last September).

It's now more than 3 years since he beat Viloria, and in that time he's managed to fight just just 6 times, beating Melindo, Mepranum, Segura, Alvarez (MUCH closer than the cards), Asenjo and Marquez. Some good names (though Segura and Marquez were looking pretty shot) but such awful activity.

He been injured recent or something?

Idk if he's injured or anything but I do know that he's being positioned to headline with Gonzalez on HBO possibly later this year, that would be the biggest fight in the lower weight classes since Tapia-Romero, carbajal-Gonzalez...

He's been fighting consistently twice a year in recent years, I don't see what the problem is.

Yeah, he's had recurring problems with his right hand the last three years, which kept him fairly inactive. He had surgery in December and says he'll return after he's fully recovered in June. And that any claims that he didn't take a Gonzalez rematch were only because he wasn't going to jump in the ring with Chocolitato unless his hand is 100%. To think he looked as good as he did against Viloria and Melindo without a right hand. He's still one of the most complete fighters around, and Gonzalez-Estrada damn well better happen, and as an HBO main event.

On the other hand he looked awful against Alvarez, some of the most perplexing scorecards I remember seeing

Seems to me Estrada is the type to 'fight to the level of his opposition'. As for his activity, he's not exactly Andre Ward. I'd prefer boxers to be more active in general, but then I don't get punched in the face for a living :conf
