Lazcano is the type of fighter that Hatton should beat, but you always have to wait and see how a fighter responds to his first loss, especially if it's his first one in 11 years and 44 fights and especially if it's by KO. Also, the blowing up in weight between fights has to catch up with a guy sooner or later, and it will have been close to a year since Hatton last had to weigh 140 by the time this fight happens.
Still, even a subpar version of Hatton should win this fight.

Pointless fight. It has no meaning whatsoever. Considering he lost up at 47 i dont see why he needs a gimme at 140 seeing as his the "Champ".

He needs a gimme because after going 43-0 in a 10 or 11 year career he just suffered his first loss, and a pretty bad one too. It's a rebuilding process all fighters usually go through in that situation.

Thats hardly a similar comparison.Hatton beat Kostya 2 years ago and has been "champ" since and considered THE man. Witter is just a belt holder.Seeing as his been a champ at 140 for so long why does he need a gimme when he lost his last bout at 47?

Understood. But a career lightweight who hasnt fought in year and his only notable win up at 140 is vs Ben Tackie?! Are you guys serious?!

You need to complain if hatton doesn't fight palie, diaz or witter in his next fight, i think he is allowed a gimmie.

I don't think it's worse than De la Hoya-Forbes, and i know, that's no justification, but what are you gonna do? That's the business. And Hatton will fight the big names again sooner or later.

    hatton will definitely win.

    not sure about a stoppage.

lazcano is a bit basic but very tough.

it's how he takes the body shots that will decide whether he lasts out.

    hatton on pts i fancy.
