How good was Lazcano? I just discovered him a day ago and he was pretty competitive in his fight versus Castillo.

It’s actually one of Castillo’s better performances ...a lot of the experts were picking Lazcano to win

He had a couple of good wins over some fighters that had seen better days ...but he was a legitimate contender at that time.....nothing flashy just a solid fighter

HolDat, I've been watching a number of Lazcano bouts over the last couple of weeks. I watched and scored his bouts with Castillo, Wilfredo Vasquez and Jesse James Leija. I especially enjoyed the Leija fight. I was going to tune in to his bout with Stevie Johnston later today. I always knew of him back in the day but to tell you the truth, I don't think I ever saw any of his bouts until recently. But I'm making up for it. And I would recommend the Leija bout to you.

Thanks Scar. I have some of those fights on my list ready to watch ASAP (Youtube). He seems to be overlooked.

I believe he had Hatton hurt in a fight that he went on to lose. I’d have to rewatch.

I remember he was going to be Hattons HBO debut fight but Lazcano hurt his hand or something, then Hatton went on to fight Collazo instead. I was glad he fought Lazcano later, new it would be full of action. Lazcano was no joke.

The first fight I ever saw Lazcano in was him whipping a faded Stevie Johnston. Rock solid fighter. I have that on tape somewhere.
