No need to. Gamboa is Olympic Gold medalist, 4 times World Amateur Champion, 5 times Cuban National Champion, enough said...:scaredas:

Gamboa has the skills and the flash to look like a favorite, but sometimes that glitz doesn't do well against a solid, ordinary looking fighter with the right technique to capitalize on it.

Gamboa is faster, hits pretty hard, and has a bit of unorthodoxy but at the professional level Juanma has definitely been in with stiffer challenges and overcome them. He looks more ordinary, but Barrera looked a whole lot more ordinary than Nassim Hamed for the most part, too. I don't think this will be a similar situation necessarily, but I am not sold that Gamboa can use that speed and power against an experienced and motivated Lopez. I sure like his style a lot more than Lopez, but timing can nullify that in and out speed at times. Just have to see. A slight edge to Gamboa stylistically but it wouldn't surprise me too much if Juanma just knocked him out and nullified his effectiveness early, to be honest.

Those are all great acomplishments at the amateur level, but there's no doubt that at the pros, juanma's resume is better.

However, h2h i'd give a slight advantage to Gamboa.

I think it would be a great fight to watch. Gamboa is so much faster and packs a huge punch. Juanma gets hurt whenever he takes a big punch. This one could be over early. I'd have to pick Gamboa due to his speed advantage, coupled with his power. In a fight of "Who lands first?", I'll take Gamboa over Juanma.

Gamboa is real good, but in all honesty Olympic boxing is far from where it use to be. Many great young prospects have jump, avoided, skip the olympics to going straight pro. Many are very young and even use the Olympics as a stepping stone and learning experience. Now a days many of those Olympic winners have had limited success. Im not saying Gamboa is not good, just throwing that info out there about the Olympics and also how a lot of other countries don't put any interest in boxing as Cuba does.

Which means absolutely ****!! I like Gamboa and I can see him winning the fight. Right now I say its a 50/50 because Gamboa has nothing in his pro resume worth talking about. But he surely has the ability and dedication to training. But some of you just love talking ****.
Forget amateur BS, remember how many gold medalists Tito defeated???

Agreed. If Gamboa keeps improving at the rate he's shown recently, he's gonna be too much for Juanma and anyone else out there near the weight.

Both fighters don't have the best chins and in the Rafa fight Lopez did seem to me faster and in much better shape then in previous fights. Gamboa didn't look so good vs a pressure type fighter and was lucky wasn't a big puncher. Lopez is the best at 126 for putting the pressure on and does have a big punch. I keep going back and forth on who I think is the better fighter as I believe they are as good as their last performance, and I think Juanma looked better than Yuriorkis, but even though I saw Juanma winning every round vs. a Rafa that looked every bit 35yrs old, Juanma also had alot of luck getting the point taken away instead of getting stopped by Rafa.

If it wasn't for that one round where Rafa pretty much had Juanma ready to go, I'd pick him over Gamboa. Thing is, if it was Gamboa that had Juanma in serious trouble, I'm not sure if he would of had Lopez out of there. Rafa not at his best and was able to hurt Juanma, while Gamboa didn't look so good vs. his last opponent and I think his power might be alittle overrated. Gamboa at this point does seem like a more complete fighter than Juanma, but Gamboa has a habit of getting into brawls when he doesn't have too and I think that would be a huge mistake vs. Juanma.

Sometimes...you said it, but not at this level with an expert boxer like Gamboa. Juan Ma is going to get demoralized by Gamboa who is waiting for that day to bring his two hands down in front of Juan Ma and still nothing will happen because Juan Ma is extremely slow for a speedy Gamboa.

Gamboa could win, but no way he wins by outboxing Juanma. He's simply not as good of a boxer as Juanma. He has tons of technical flaws that will cost him the fight. He'll have to land a few of those lighting fast power punches in order to win. Otherwise, Juanma negates him and easily outboxes him.

I pick Lopez if they ever meet.

I got Gamboa in this one. I wasn't that impressed with Lopez' win over a injured Rafa.

Because of a balance issue he might get caught but...he'll come back and finish up his fight. But Juan Ma stand up just static in one position waiting to be hit, the perfect style for Gamboa. Look at Juan Ma's hand and compare with Gamboa's speed.....this will be the factor....Juan Ma will not see Gamboa's punches...everybody knows that!

I agree with most of what you said, but I obviously don't agree with the quoted part. When Gamboa begins to step in the ring with the same level fighters that Juanma has, and continues to have the same level of success, then we might be able to make that assertion. Right now, I think it's clear that Lopez is the more complete fighter.
