Juan Manuel ''Dinamita'' Marquez vs Michael ''The Great'' Katsidis. Who Wins And Why?

My prediction and small analysis

 

aslong as JMM hasent gotten to old overnight he will win in an entertaining fight , for me he does everything that kats can do but also has a great boxing brain and technique

so unless kats can overwehlm him then i see a good fight with JMM coming out with a tko/ko late , acummulation of sharp short shots stopping kats in his tracks

 

Marquez by TKO in the 9th or 10th. Katsidis will be game, but its 1 thing walking guys like Mitchell and Earl dwn to land your big shots but Marquez is a whole new ball game. Katsidis will take a lot of shots trying to get close and will land a few himself but he will be taking to many shots and if Casamayor can drop him then Marquez can too. He just has to hope that Marquez shows his age on the night.

 

I can see kats ko'ing him late, proper tee'ing off on hin stoppage.

That being said, i could see jmm stopping kats as he can get a bit reckless.

Could be one for the ages though imho, proper ward/gatti style.

 

Realistically if Marquez shows up as he did against Casa he wins. No doubt about it. He'll be too sharp on the counter, catching him too clean, he'll stop him.

I never normally pick based on 'he may be old and a bit past it' before its proven but I fancy tipping the underdogs this weekend so **** it I'll take Katsidis to beat a Marquez thats off the pace.

 

Thats pretty much my take on it.

 

I reckon Katsidis will have his moments early on as I get the feeling that Marquez will get off to a slow start but after 4 or 5 rounds Marquez will find his range and pick Katsidis off on his way to a stoppage around the 10th.

 

Yeah hopefully he does a Hatton without the holding, wrestling, low blows and rabbit punches.

 

I can see Marquez scoring a late KO after all out war. But everytime I think of this fight I get angry becuase we wont be able to watch it:-(I find it truly baffling that Sky aren't interested. Maybe Premier Sports will save the day.

Oh this a real tough one on paper Marquez should win given his pedigree BUT

I feel he is on the slide wasn't all that impressive in his last fight imo even though it was a comfortable win against Diaz felt he had lost something, something that relentless pressure could expose over the 12 round distance.

Kats is bound to take a fair few shots regardless of what kind of Marquez shows up and i worry if he takes a lot he will end up cut and swollen badly and could be stopped late on.

Such a toughie get the feeling this could be just the right time for Kats though but in reality i wouldnt rule out a stoppage by Marquez late on but im going to go with Kats by pure will and sheer determination to wrestle the title from Marquez

 

I think it has JMM KO all over it. Kats is a tough guy but the counters of Juan Manuel should put him out. He is far too wide for someone like JMM ability. Casa had a field day countering him and I think JMM will have the same. Kats will make it a tough one though but I just can't see past JMM taking him out in the middle rounds.
