i've watch the tokuyama and cho fights but gerry really lost that fight. tokuyama won the last three rounds by simply running in their fights...you can make a case for penalosa in the first fight with cho.. i watch those four fights almost every summer until summer of 2005 and im convinced that gerry got schooled in those fights. to make matter worse just look on how tokuyama beat cho twice using his jab to set up his right straight...
get the **** out of here, he beat the **** out of him they had to stop that masacre why stop it if he was a featherfisted ***** :huh
Then why did Roach stop the fight? That type of punishment shortens the quality of your life and to Penalosa's detriment it will have a lasting affect. One's ability to absorb punishement ie: Margie....doesn't mean it won't affect you permanently. I have freiends in P.R that can guzzle a bottle of Bacardi and appear as if they haven't taken a drink. However, their liver is shot and the quality of their life is not the best....especially at their young age. So, if you were calling Lopez a *****....I don't think Ponce De Leon and Cesar will agree with you....niether will the other 20 fighters who got KO'd.
Even though I've enjoyed his last four 1st rd. KO's, I been waiting to see him go a couple more rounds to really check out his boxing skills...and after seeing tonights fight I must say he isn't that bad. Good body work, combinations, great stamina(1020 thrown punches in 9 rounds). As far as his power goes, I part of me started questioning it but then again, i think any boxer with a amazing chin like penelosa will make many power punchers look bad, so I guess that's still kind of a question to me. Overall, two thumbs up. Besides Marquez & Vasquez, I would like to see him against Caballero or when he moves up in weight, against Gamboa.
really...was Penalosa knocked out or down before? Or are you just being a massive dick?..hmmm, lets think this through...I say DICK!:deal
don't worry dude, not even he believes what he said. It doesn't matter if Penalosa didn't go down, he was visibly shaken and hurt by those punches. If he wasn't, there wouldn't have really been a reason to stop the fight :deal
Like what's been said already: Lopez's stamina was still in question and now it's not looking like an issue anymore. He looked sloppier in the last three rounds, but if it'd been enough to be an offensive and/or defensive problem, Penalosa would have made that point emphatically.
I view JuanMa better after this fight. I wasnt sure how he would deal with an ironed chin guy like Penalosa, but he kept his composure throughout the fight and even after throwing 1000+ he was still throwing with very good techique. defo the future star in the making if not already there
Agreed...how did his stock go down?? He answered questions about his chin and his stamina IMO, yet somehow he isn't that good anymore...yea sure:roll:
