    cant wait for this fight I've been fallowing JML careerer for some time now and its time for him to blow up. but he got a tough fight on his hands and PDL is a tough dude the fight is going to be awesome.

    I was never a fan of bautista's poor defense. With JML's amateur background(which I doubt if Bautista had any), I think this is an entirely different fight.. :hat

    I'm rooting for JuanMa to win, but if JuanMa gets KTFO by PDL I don't wanna hear no body in here running their gay little mouth saying that JuanMa was "Overrated" GTFO of here!

    Well technically Juanma seems vastly superior but Ponce has the major equalizer and also seems strong and extremely resiliant even when getting outboxed. There should be fireworks, its going to be an entertaining bout for sure.

    Man I was talking to my friends dad and he was telling me that Juan Manuel Lopez reminded him of Wilfredo Gomez and that says alot about a fighter being compared to Wilfredo Gomez - arguabley the greatest puerto rican fighter ever.

    Lopez isn't boom boom batista ... he's not gerry penelosa ... i think Juanma is a different fighter that ponce de leon might not have ever seen.

    I'm picking Juanma by KO ... and if he loses so what ... its only 1 loss on his resume and considering that he's in his early 20's he should be straight ... but I expect him to excel in his first title fight.

    its going to be a big rumble! both have stunning powers but juanma is the superior boxer. he can fight from the outside and hell have a day countering PDLs wide punches. if PDL could connect some big shots early ont eh fight, he wins. but im confident juanma is skillful enought to negate that one (and only) dimension in PDLs arsenal.

    I guess it all depends how he is being rated. If JuanMa is being rated to be the next super champion or the next Wilfredo Gomez, then a loss would make him "overrated". I see him as a great boxer who has the potential of being a future champion. A loss to PDL, wont change my opinion unless JuanMa get handled like Bautista did.

    This a chance for Lopez to prove himself and show what he really is made of.

    didnt he get outboxed by penalosa, but still managed to get a bs descision? (or whatever that philipino's name is, and btw I like that dude too. hes got some skills)
