Round 1

Bisbal seems to be controlling the ring with his immense height advantage (Herring is a career cruiserweight) and long jab. Herring is loping around the ring, only letting his hands go when he jumps into Bisbal out of the corners and flails away at his sides. Bisbal is just catching him and waiting for the break, and working his long jab on the outside without trying too hard to time anything big on the moving target.

Round 2

Herring (I think) is described by the commentators as "looking like a pit bull but biting like a poodle".

Bisbal keeps jabbing, and Herring keeps fleeing. Herring is clinching pretty effectively. Bisbal starts to open up with body shots and right hands behind his jab. Ugly fight as Herring is lassoing Bisbal around the neck and hitting while holding. For some reason the ref warns Bisbal for holding. atsch

If the top two heavyweights in PR were to meet, my money would be on Negron.

Bisbal just looks dreadful so far.

 

Round 3

Bisbal jabs his way around the ring, and has to deal with Herring essentially climbing him or crawling into his trunks. Herring just clinching high and low wherever he can, slapping with weak shots on the inside. Good 1-2 by Bisbal, his best stuff all night that I've seen.

Round 4

Bisbal is the only one working, with his jab. He's throwing very few right hands behind the jab, but is landing more chopping rights than Herring is throwing punches period. Herring is just running into Bisbal and slapping on the inside. His corner is yelling at him to "use two hands, Willie!" atsch Brilliant advice.

Terrible fight.
