They are fighting on june 7, in the undercard of the Kelly Pavlik title defense fight. Who do you think, will take it and why?

I think Ponce de Leon is shite, he shouldn't even have a title.

I watched him against Escobedo, and had him losing 117-111 - he was thoroughly outboxed throughout the bout, nobody was more shocked than the man himself when the verdict was read out.

The most shocking thing about the fight was that one judge had him winning 118-110!

technically he has flaws...don't judge him based on one fight

ponce has alot of ****en raw power and a good chin followed by a nice workrate.....

i can see juanma winning if his chin holds up, but if not, then it's good nite juanma......

i've seen juan ma fight couple of times. stand up boxer-puncher with some good pop, who likes to engange. his movement is what i'd call satisfactory, which is what you need the most of when fighting someone like ponce. step up for juan ma, so there's a lot of unanswered questions about him (chin, defense, stamina etc...). if juan ma opts to engage i'd have probably go ponce, just on the basis of him being more seasoned and his style is made for gunfights anyway. though lopez winning would'nt come as a suprise, given how limited de leon is.

I think he is the weakest title holder, but then again he has great power. If he cannot take Juanma out early, we are going to have another PR champion.

Lopez is too fast ... Ponce De Leon is too methodical and stiff ... I think that Lopez is good on his toes and will De Leon alot of trouble.

    Lopez by decision

Good analysis. I too think, that the experience of De Leon is his greatest advantage, along with his power of course. Then again, juanma is faster and has great power also, in all it should be a great fight and measuring stick for the potential Juanma has.

ponce de leon. he's definitely one badass hard hitter. add the fact that he has a decent chin, though stiff, has good solid defense as well. 12 rounds is a long way to set up juanma for a tko/knock out..

His feet have to be planted to throw those power punches ... he got out punched by Penelosa and couldn't get off anything effective. If Lopez' work rate is high that night, I see him beating De Leon ... if he comes in like Rey Bautista then its nighty night, but I don't see that happening -- Lopez is good.

Lopez can win this fight if he concentrates and put a boxing clinic but the guy like to exchange and ko people, so he might get careless and suffer, because De Leon can put him down, but If Lopez watch de Leon heymakers and counter him all night he might get the desicion, Lopez punch hard but i doubht he can ko De Leon because de Leon have a heck of a chin and incredible stamina.

JuanMa will school the one-dimensional and awkward de Leon...

    Saw Ponce fight once.
I do not want to see him again.
How in the hell did he get all those wins with his lack of skill.
I have seen amateurs look better with less than 10 fights.
Doesnt look like a hard hitter either.
Too much arm in his punches.
    Basically "crap".
