    I had! Sneaky Floyd. . .

] During the official weigh in for their 144 lb bout, Marquez weighed in at 142 lbs and Mayweather weighed in at 146 lbs thereby incurring a financial penalty ($300,000 for each pound over 144 lbs[5]) as he was 2 pounds over the catchweight.[8] It was later revealed that the contract was changed a few days prior to the weigh in so that Mayweather would be allowed to weigh up to the welterweight limit of 147 lbs while avoiding paying an additional fine to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, in addition to the fine he agreed to pay to Marquez.[5]

He's smart enough & has the intelligence to actually read & finish the article to form an opinion unlike some , how can you form an opinion if you cannot maintain concentration to even finish the article to its end....bizarre....then again...

I think this was before he fought Floyd. I remember he predicted Floyd would beat Manny because of Floyd’s fighting spirit and superior ring intelligence and counterpuncher.

I wonder what made Fedchenko smartest, other than being nicknamed "the Professor"? Also, best skills Diaz?

Probably because Fedchenko was a stay busy/tune up and was supposed to be blown away, but was competitive the entire night, which probably shocked Marquez.

What credit? Their fight was a farce. If you don't make weight then the fight is void.

Pimp C argued that Floyd-Marquez was an even playing field despite Floyd missing weight...

Fighters typically name which fighters gave the toughest fight in terms of attrition and grueling nature. When a fighter walks away losing a lopsided low contact decision he will typically not look back at that fight as being particularly tough. In contrast he will actually look back at a fight where he ended the fight looking weather beaten and worn down as the tougher fight, even in victory.

Fighters know who wins and loses, but it's the man who hurts them badly who gains their respect.

Even Mayweather is not totally immune to this. He won't give JLC credit because many respected journalists have him losing that fight. But he gave Augustus a shout for being a formidable opponent because Augustus put a hurting on him. Floyd won almost all the rounds closely, but Augustus made him feel pain.

Even if Hagler had gotten the decision over Leonard he would no doubt list Hearns as his best opponent and toughest challenge. This despite the fact that Hagler knocked out Hearns.

That's because Leonard didn't hurt Hagler and Hearns did hurt Hagler. No fighter respects another fight who plays the potshot and round stealing game.

Man to man combat is a lot more honorable and respected. Sure Marquez is bitter about the Pacquiao decisions. But he has respect for Pacquiao because he fought him like a man.

Pac made Marquez feel more pain. I think it's mostly as simple as that.

Marquez descended to the lowest depths of hell and then walked through fire and brimstone.
