A true pick-em fight. I think both have their moments.

Both fighters are very technical, can punch, have excellent workrates and great chins tested against elite competition. Nelson has a slight wideness to this punches (a minor flaw) perhaps the sharp shooter Marquez could capitalise. I picture a very close fight going the distance with the championship rounds being the deciding factor.

    Marquez by 7-5.

I've seen a few Azumah Nelson fights over the past couple years and I've been surprised by how he sometimes shut down his offense against dangerous opponents, including Fenech I and LaPorte. I could see the same happening against Marquez, who I would pick by decision.

I know both these fighters very well. And, I have to say I have no idea how this one would turn out. Very intriguing matchup. Too close to call for me. If I had to pick, I would maybe give a razor thin edge to Marquez due to his ability to adapt and get through the rough spots that would be likely to occur when facing a prime "Professor."

Nelson was plain and simple a better fighter than Marquez. Tougher, more power, quicker, and to be honest, a better all around technician.

This one truly boggles my mind... Today I think that Nelson had the movement to trouble Marquez enough for a decision win...Tomorrow maybe something different...

the same was true for Pacquiao, minus the last one which is also debatable for Nelson, not that I'm picking Marquez here though. Regardless of the scores, that I'd assume to be relatively close, Marquez timing and counter punching abilities will likely negate Nelson's more impressive work rate. Azumah would definitely have his hands full.

Marquez gets him in the first go-round, but Nelson wins the rematch.

i'll take nelson by close decision, he's got the better workrate and a bit less likely to take a kd. the point made above about nelsons offense slowing under fire is true, but i don't think marquez really fights the style to cause that.
